being a college student isn't always the best financially with a turbo'd car...unless you know how to do the work yourself. I would wait until you get a good job....the E36 will be around for a while and there are better things to spend money on right out of college.

It's $5,500.

IMO, buy and kit and save yourself the headaches, but to each his own.

pretty "basic" kit for street use going for around 300-350whp and quick spool. Right now, we're going to be around 4k with tuning..

We're still working on the site. Sorry there is not a lot of specific info on there at the moment.

Depends on the kit and and motor. Stage 1 has been taken to ~380hp at 16psi on a stock S52. Stage 2 will do ~580hp on a built S52. HG is optional. It's a hardware only kit for now, but tuning is available as a package with a kit.

That's why people say talk to techno about it... he'll put together a package deal for you. :)

That's all good and well but I'm going to be using an M50 :-p No interest in race fuel, nothing about 93 octane

330hp at the wheels at 12psi on 93 on a stock M50.

sounds pretty good. like i said i'm interested in quick spool, are things like swapping a smallish GT-series turbo possible? would that be beneficial? if you work there and/or can answer a good bit of my inquisition shoot me a PM please!

A) The TRM kit starts spooling at 1800rpm. You don't need a GT turbo.
B) GT turbo is not for guys on a college budget anyway.
C) Get the TRM turbo kit, period.

Good day sir.

^^ Even though I'm in school I make pretty good money, basically if i'm going to shell out the cash, I want to be 100% sure of what I'm getting. Spool at 1800 does sound nice but still doesn't answer whether or not a comparably sized GT would spool better/produce better end results.

Why not get a e36 kit from TCD

Their kit looks right on board with what he wants. Their company has excellent customer service...not saying the other recommended vendors in this thread have not...but if ya want bolt on no customization kit..

TCD is a very good option and one that I would recommend because of my past transactions with them...

Only one way to find out. You could ask Mike. However, the tune might have to be changed which will cost more for custom tune. Not sure if piping would have to be changed. Depends on the turbo.

He said he's looking for quick spool. I don't think the TCD kit will provide that, based on the turbo size they use. Their kits will make outrageous power, but at the expense of response.

Watch the video (high-res is better) then PM techno550 and he can give you the rest of the details. I don't really work for him, I just help out with the website and around the shop a bit.

For an m50 I was told that possibly 320whp could be achieved with the TRM Stage II kit on pump fuel. You might get more but it's better to shoot low and be pleasantly surprised. Just contact techno550 on this board and ask him about it. His name is Michael and he is the owner of TRM.

Not to detour from route of topic, but what in god's name is that in your avatar? Turbine wheel just looks very . . . peculiar? :confused
