I just swapped out my 93 vanos m50 for a 92 non vanos m50 put the 92 harness in and computer got car running but now it surges at idle almost dies and does if you let it sit long enough and I have no tach or mpg guage but needles bounce when surging any ideas I'm thinkin maybe idle air control but why no tach or mpg guage

Check your crank position sensor first per Bentley and see if you can borrow a friends DME. My car was doing the same exact thing, would not hold idle, would die and the guages would go crazy. A new DME solved the problem. See if you can try another DME before you buy another one.

found idle problem it was the idle air control aparently have to use the one of the 92 engine not the 93 but still have no tach and mpg they act up every now and then wondering what the heck and have an issue with the maf but idles good now lol

hey , ive just swapped my 94 vanos m5o for a 92 n/v m5o but i cant get it runnin its fueling and sparkin but wont start up . what do i need to do to get it to start cheers .

oh and do i need the whole wiring out the car or just the part for the engine ? cheers
