Hey guys, I recently got a CEL and the auto zone scanner pulled P1403. I did search in both forums and NOTHING! Please, I need some help because I dont even know where to start. I know at least SOMEONE has gotten it before. Thanks alot.

When they gave you the code, they dident tell you what system it affected? They should have given you a printout w/ the code number, and what is wrong. I cant help you w/ just the code....

Well yeah they gave me a printout, and it said something to do with charcoal canister electric issue. But I dont even know what this canister is or anything! :mad

At least I have a year to figure it out until my next emmisions to turn the CEL off lol :stickoutt

That sounds like a problem with the evaporative control system. It could be just a matter of a loose or bad gas cap or it could be a bad hose or other component of the evaporative control system.

P Code 1403 has to do with carbon cannister shut off valve control circuit electrical. a short to ground or an open circuit can be the cause of the code.

Search OBD II codes on google and you'll get a list of every code these cars will throw

Yeah that sounds like what it said on the printout that auto zone gave me. If someone knows especially you PelicanMC, can you please point me to where I should check like where the charcoal canister is and if possible like what the connections leads are and stuff? THanks
