Hey all,

I recently bought a 2002 M5 and I had a slight problem today. For a couple of days, a message "check coolant" has come up. I checked it, it was low, I filled it up. Next day, same message... coolant gone! So I buy another one and fill it up. Today I decide to have some fun, and drive at 120 mph for a bit and play around a little. I stop, and there's a bit of smoke coming from the engine (it was night, so i couldn't see what color). It smelled kinda funny too. The engine and oil heat gauges were normal. Also, there was "black" spot on the inside of the hood (that soft stuff that covers it) towards the left side and when I touched it my hands were black. The engine didn't seem that hot at all, maybe that was there before I don't know. But I'm really OCD.

I drove it home and no more smoke... car accelerated and drove fine, but what do you all think is the problem? First off with the coolant thing and also that smoke??

Please help me (I need reassurance, I'm so OCD)

pressure test the cooling system, and find the leak.
