angel eyes are the bright rings that people put around their headlights.
if you look at the ring around the low/high beam they are the angel eyes.

It's more like a "generic" term for the factory and the aftermarket lights with halo rings . Kinda like the way Kleenex is now considered a generic term for facial tissue.
