I searched the forums and didn't see anything on this issue previously. My 1998 BMW 528i automatic has started exhibiting a noticeable jerking motion on the 1-2 upshift. It is less noticeable on the 2-3 upshift but still there. I haven't noticed anything on the 3-4 upshift, and all of the downshifts are clean.

What's the best place to start hunting down this problem or do I need to head for a transmission shop?

I am taking the car in for service next week for some other things. Would any of these problems be related to bad upshifting: A/C belt tensioner; sway bar links; lower control arms? Or am I looking at something entirely new that needs repair?
