the other day i was driving my 93 325is and my kenwood deck started turning on and off rapidly so i just took the faceplate off, and later i put it back on and it worked. then it started doing it again today, so i put my factory deck in and now my factory deck is doing the same thing, sometimes it will work for a minute or two then my cd changer will turn off and then the deck turns off. im sure its just a connection (my guess is a ground) somewhere but i cant find it, can anyone help me out. Thanks, Nick

I too am having a similar problem and would like any information to resolve the issue.

A lot of decks are grounded through the antenna. Pull out your entire head unit. Try to play it while turning the antenna connection. Do not unplug the antenna while playing though.
Just a thought...

for sure check your grounds.
and check your harness, make sure that none of your wires are loose or anything.
but check your grounds first.

Check grounds as previously stated, also, check battery voltage, I have noticed the Kenwoods are sensitive to lower voltages.

I've actually ran the deck before without the antenna and everything but the radio worked fine, and when i played with it it didnt seem to do anything. my cd changer clicks on and off even if the module is off, when my deck is on and shorting out as well as my interior speakers. i'm guessing its some sort of ground on the factory amp or somethings fried or overloading. also i tried running the ground straight from the deck to metal on the car and it didn't help. is there some sort of main ground for the whole stereo (deck, cd chngr., and amp) that would cuase it to do this? also it will work for a few minutes sometimes then go back to going on and off rapidly.

actually i thought it was my cd changer clicking but its my amp and it clicks every 1-2 seconds, quicker than my deck turns on and off. do you think my amp is shot or is it because of a wiring issue?

What turns on first and sends the signal for the other to turn on the amplifier or the deck? is there a remote wire that could be causing this problem, or a ground from the amp to the car? Thanks, Nick

anyone know whats going on, i took my amp out today because i thought it might be bad, and it still was going on and off, so its for sure the wiring and its the cars wires because it does this with my factory deck in too. can anyone tell me where the wires run thruogh the car so i dont have to tear the whole thing apart. Thanks, Nick
