My friend came over this evening to hang out while I replaced the tie rod assembly on my brother's Jetta. When he started his '88 M3 to leave, you could hear the clutch clattering as he released the clutch pedal. He told me that he replaced the clutch a few months back. I told him that I would post to the forum and see if anyone had any ideas as for what he should be looking in regards to this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Vielen dank :)

Does he have a lightweight flywheel?

That I don't know, but I would guess that he doesn't. I will confer will him first thing tomorrow morning and get back to you. Thanks for the help!

I just got off the phone with my friend and he said that when he replaced the clutch that he got the flywheel re-machined.
