View Full Version : Let the Angel Eyes Blink?

I just had DEPO projectors with OEM style angel eyes installed. My mechanic tapped directly into the parking lights, so when I use my turn signals the angel eyes blink as well.

Some of my friends think it's a cool effect and others think it looks stupid.

Any opinions? :)

you cant tap the e46 angel eyes into the corners, connect them to another (ignition on) souce and they wont blink.

kindy corny to me. It's cool if you're 15. But then you shouldn't be driving.

I made this same mistake when installing angel eyes onto my friends E46 325ci. Like Habbie said, just find an ingnition on source and you'll be all set with non-blinking angel eyes. We hooked his up to the daytime running lights; so his angel eyes are always on.

sounds kinda ghetto haha. Will be awesome once you change it though. I sort of regret not getting angel eyes.

I was under the impression that "blinking" angel eyes was a signal for gay sex. :dunno

 :( well my problem was the drivers side adjusters haven't seemed to do anything so I tried to manually aim them heh, and my nosepanel is bent a bit :D

I think I am now at the adjusting stage for the drivers light :buttrock:redspot Maybe I should get some angel eyes sometime.

"in progress do not disturb"

I laugh at future 'my angel eyes broke and i dunno why' threads.

Angels should not be blinking, get them set up as the daytime run lights. Thats how it should be.

looks like those are OEM style 194 halogen angel eyes.... so it should hold up but I don't like the way it looks.

Keep in mind if those were real CCFL's angel eyes if you had them setup to blink they would burn out in quick order!

The constant on and off can quickly kill off a CCFL angel eye in my expirience. Similar in the way if you flash you HID headlight you might kill the ignitor inside the ballast. This is why you don't see HID's in the high beam.

yeah that would look stupid, splice into the parking lights

It maybe cool for a car show or something.
But I think it'll draw too much attention at night when you signal.
And as previously stated, flouresent (sp?) bulbs shouldn't be turned on/off consistently at one time.
It will definitely shorten the life, just like HID bulbs

I also did this and used a switch. I just found it easier to control when the lights are on all the time. Plus they fade on and off.
