It's for sale btw. Got it in the mail after I already sold my '76 2002 :( It's new still in wraper.
Paid $30 + shipping. Selling for $20

You could check with Bavarian Auto Recycling. They're a forum sponsor so be sure to tell them you're from Bf.c. Might help with the price. I've used them once or twice with good results.

word of advice! STAY AWAY FROM Bavarian Auto Recycling!
They have been nothing but trouble for me! 6 months ago I had a customer that wanted his tranny replaced with a less expensive/used tranny, only place I was able to find one for his car was: Bavarian Auto Recycling down in cali. The customer also wanted it done fast, so I paid WAY extra for express shipping. As it was promised to me within a week, there was no sign of it for a month! when I finally got it, installed it in the customers car, it ended up being bad. So as of course was a "warranty", I had a hell of a time to get them to grant it. They wanted the "tranny codes" and a complete description of the issues in a "written letter", 2 weeks later I got another tranny, and yes... it too was bad. So i just took the plunge and rebuilt it at my cost to keep the customer happy.
Plus they are EXPENSIVE! they make Aurora Auto wrecking look cheap!

Buying an automatic tranny is probably more of a crap shoot than buying hard parts. But that doesn't excuse poor customer service.
My experience with them has been good. I needed an M3 halfshaft. They had both sizes in stock and shipped as promised. It arrived with new CV boots at each end. Not sure if the CVs were rebuilt but it's held up on the track with no issues. Their price was a little less than other places I checked and since they're on the left coast shipping was better too.
