Did a quick search, didnt find anything. Has it been done? Worth it? Sounds fun...kinda.

don't think it's been done. For it to be worth it though, it would have to be a special LSX...ie. forced induction or an LS7

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. If it is something you are looking to do, try to find a 2000 323i/is auto that has had the tranny blow up. It is about a 5K repair on a $10K car. If you could pick one up for around 5 or 6K, you could be well on your way. I kinda wish I would have gone that route on my wifes car, though she might have frowned on being without it for the time it took to figure out the swap.

I think a nice 6.0 or 6.3 with the L92 heads would kick ass in an e46.

I don't think anyone has done a LSx swap yet. But there is a guy who did a M3 motor + SMG tranny + lots of other M stuff on his 323i.

His name is MITE46 on E46fanatics

I think the LSx swap would be really cool in a e46, considering that the e46 isn't a enthusiast car ;).

The m3 motor is 100% pointless though. U only get 333hp, and no torque at all..... The ls7 swap, would cost about the same, and the power increase would be CRAZY, compared to that 3.2L I-6..

These guys did it. No details on swap though. The biggest obstacle would be the CAN system. You'd pretty much loose ESP, ABS may bee even A/C.
