:confused

I was driving to the airport cruising at 65mph and a GSXR came flying up alongside of me and then slowed down to pace me for a bit. Then he did the whole accel/decel about 10 times and I gave him the look of :shifty. Then he started swerving back and forth in his lane. Finally gave up and bolted....man that thing turned into a dot in no time. At that time I was wishing I had a freeway monster (i.e. supra).

Ha! from the title of the post I thought you were gonna tell how you killed him. I was gettin my "BOOOGGGUUSSS" response ready.

Glad to see you didnt race. That might have been embarrassing.

You don't need a Supra to take down a bike, you've got an awesome platform already! Just build that motor to low-comp, put a GT35R or a GT40R on it, and you'll make 600+whp all day long. Get serious with it, put a 40R with a larger hotside and some other stuff, race gas shouldn't be a problem at 750+whp :)

No GT35R M3 is going to touch an even moderately competent rider on a modern race replica liter bike unless you're doing a roll-on starting at 140mph...

LOL, yeah I thought people might think that when I put the "tried :stickoutt" Yeah, I didn't feel the need to race him....1) Because my car wouldn't stick with him for a milisecond and 2) I had a passenger (never race with) and 3) Luggage for the girlfriend which included 100lbs of SHOES :help.....

That would definitely be interesting...but then how is a 600whp M3 for daily driving? Any videos floating around of even HP supra vs M3?

600whp M3 is VERY do-able. I know that Ulysses broke 700whp on his stock motor, but his was not an S50 or S52. I know that the S50/52 has broken 600whp on stock motor. The guys in the FI section of this forum are crazy, always tons of power and they always have videos.

If you built a low-comp S50, you could hit 600whp all day long. All you need is pistons, rods, good head gasket, good head, good ecu, and a nice turbo setup.

You are a fan of turbo over super? It seems like the build you explained above would be the same price as the $11k eurosport TS? I have never looked into FI turbo builds....But how is the reliability once you have a build like that?

Turbo's and SC's are awesome, i'm not particularly biased more towards one than the other. The Subaru STi i had was a very fast turbo car with a GT35R on it. I think for building an all-out beast of a car, turbo's are the way to go. They will simply get you more power for your money, but there are ups and downs to both systems.

For a Daily Driver, i would actually want a Supercharger. A Supercharged M3 would be the PERFECT driver, 350-430whp depending on your setup. It is simple, reliable, and FAST. Most SC setups on the M3's will max out around 450whp or so. Yes you can get more, but at that time, it's less expensive to go with a turbo and do 600whp :)

Lol, if you're asking these kinds of questions now, you should start doing your research. Because regardless of which FI you choose, you're going to have problems. It's never a walk in the park like it is on paper.

I don't plan on doing FI anytime soon on my M3...My eclipse is fast enough for my needs now.

I had a bike follow me most of the way to my work this morning. There's a set of curves from downtown Albany, under Pacific Blvd overpass (by the Amtrak depot) and up onto Pacific followed by a hard right to Jackson St then on to work. The guy couldn't hang with me in the corners at all, would almost catch me on the straights, but only because I let him. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Love that car...clear corners, side markers and shadowline '330i' emblem are on the way...

The good news is the clear corners, side markers, and new badge will give you at least +10 hp.
The bad news is: Anyone who knows how to drive their street bike and can get it moderately low in the corners, would have kicked the crap out of you all day long.
What kind of bike was it???

I was referring to the retard that posted above me..........not you.....notice that I quoted the person, then asked a question. This typically indicates, that the poster is asking a question of the quoted, not the original poster.

Basically its how people on the forums identify who they are calling out. noob :redspot

Ah hell is this going to start the street bike vs. sports car in corners arguement again?

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=10496247&postcount=154

Reference this for AMA motorcycle vs. SCCA laptimes. Very close for a heavily modified C6 Corvette to just a AMA 600cc sportbike... :D

#1......He wasn't racing a superbike..........
#2......He's not a professional driver
#3......He's not driving a c6 corvette
#4......He wasn't at Laguna Seca

I'm not trying to start an argument here, but anyone who is going to argue that a street bike couldn't beat a 330i, through a couple of turns and a straightaway, needs to go out and try it. Anyone that would like to argue with me, feel free to put your money where your mouth is. I would put down a 1000 bucks to prove someone wrong on this. Oh also, if I'm wrong, I will never post here again. Any takers?

I too was refering to the guy you quoted stevenstarr.

Ah well I was just agreeing with you and proving that a professional rider could take on a professional driver under similar cirumstances therefore an average rider could take an average driver under the same conditions. :shifty So antsy.

To lkthelen a smart motorcyclist will not push his limits on the road as there is no need to, thus the motorcyclist that "couldn't keep up with you" is either a) conservative in riding or b) a beginner who has yet to go to a track. A lot more action is involved in turning a motorcycle than turning a car.

Yes.......but.......the deviation of skill between two professional drivers is probably much smaller then between an amateur rider/driver. And I just enjoy giving people crap. I may know very little about the physics of riding a motorcycle, but I know a whole lot about being right. :) JK

i asked you and texted u a bunch of times back in april if you were interested in selling your car, you said yes, and that you would get back to me on a price. After a few texts/aim/pm's i never got a response. So I bought one that hadn't been driven into the ground :)
