So I have made a grand total of one payment on my car loan. I just put in new iridiums, changed all four O2 sensors, had the starter changed, fixed the exhaust rattle, put on contours and 4 new BFG's, had the bolt that was backing out of the tranny fixed and changed the strut mounts...

....and now the headgasket just blew. I seriously was just driving back from getting the wheels balanced and car aligned and the car started overheating. At this point I think this car should be the project car and my Mazda should be the daily driver.. Oh well, I am not worried about it. I figure at some point I will run out of things to replace (jk jk) I know why some people gut these cars and just make them track cars now.... ;-)

He's right about there right now I think 2200 ish. Ive owned my car since Feb and ive spent less than $700 on maintenance total of maybe $1,900 on the car since ive owned it. The extra $1,200 is my new goodies :devillook

Yeah I think I am inching up on you Mark.. Oh well, if I didnt expect to have to change things on a 10 year old car I would be a fool.

I talked to Chad this morning and I based my diagnosis he also thinks its the HG also.. The car was inching up to hot so we pulled over and I could hear bubbling near the back of the engine bay on the exhaust side. When I was changing the O2 sensors the other day I noticed something that looked like it was crusted on to the block just below where the head meets the block. I dont know why I didnt look into it more, I just assumed it was from when the head work was done before. The "Check Coolant Level" has been coming on intermitently but again I figured it was a bad sensor since its a common problem on these cars. The coolent level wasnt low when I checked it after getting that message but I guess it has been a couple weeks since then too.

I am considering rebuilding the motor just to save me the money on labor parts and my time since I am going FI eventually, so why not get the block ready for it now? I am waiting on a few quotes from Chad, and if everything else goes well I will be getting billet internals and possibly port the head. I am also counting on winning the lotto btw..

Porting the head does nothing...its been tried on these cars already...save your money.

How long until you go FI? If you get low comp pistons now and drive it like that without FI, its gonna suck.
