Hey guys I just joined and I'm sure you guys already saw my car in the other post. Where is what I'm planning on doing in a few months 1. turbocharging the car or I have an idea on supercharging it. What do u guys think? If i turbo it we have to move the fuel distributer to the other side and move other things around. Or put a supercharger on and make it easier (my dad says its harder then i think). What do u guy think about supercharging them?

if ur keeping the stock fuel system then yea turboing will take some effort especially w/ relocating fuel hoses.

if u can, u should convert to any efi setup (using an intake manifold from e30 m10's).....so u don't have to worry about relocating the fuel distrib, and more tunable depending on which efi setup u get.


supercharging may be just as, or more time consuming than turbo.......to mount a super on the intake manifold side of the engine, u'll need to make some strong brackets. and most supercharges i've seen use pretty wide belts (at least twice the size of the waterpump/alternator belt)....so u'll need to customize the crank pulley, or some pulley to power the supercharger.

i found this one website that sells/sold supercharger kits for m10's (but it was somewhere in europe=not worth it cuz of shipping charges).

///ME21 - I have looked into this. I have a roots type supercharger out of a supercharged MR2. Fantastic condition with all the manifolds. I even machined down a matching pulley to be welded onto the crank of an M10. It might need a little more work, but I will sell all to you if you are interested. It's just the supercharger, the manifolds and extra pulley.

The supercharger I have has a magnetic clutch, like the one on an AC compressor, which means you can run without boost and then flick a switch and WOOOOSSSSHHHH!!!!! Gone!
