I was driving home and a couple of blocks form my home I was hearing some noises from under the car. Sounded like something was loose, next thing that happened was that my battery indicator went on as well as my parking brake lights. All of a sudden the steering wheel was really heavy. I was able to park the car but steering wheel was really heavy....My friend who was following me said that something came out from under neath the car, a round thing. Any one have this happen to them? Let me know. I started the car up again after parking it and still same situation. Help before my mechanic robs me again. Thanks for the replies. Manny:( :( :(

$20 for parts if you do it yourself, if there is no other damage

Just be careful now how long you run your car. remmeber, its on battery power now, no more alternator. Don't drive too far with it or you'll kill your battery.

your battery should be the least of your concerns, you have no fan or waterpump. You get hot and your engine is toast.

ahhhhh... sounds exactly like when my water pump exploded and messed up some belts.

Cool this information is great...I was going to drive the car to the mecahnic but will call AAA instead. Man....it seems like with my 525 everything is going wrong. First the overheating event, then the battery, then now the belt. It seems like everything is going wrong. I love my car and really don't want to part with it but maybe its time. What do you guys think....I have about 160K on my car and I know it will break because of age but is it time to trade up to another car? My car is in good condition otherwise....Maybe thinking of a Subaru WRX, but I really dont want to trade for a Japanese car. What do you guys think???
