View Full Version : BimmerForums Good People Thread
SergeK 08-27-2007, 03:29 AM Heres a thread Idea for the Florida Section. If any one here has met another Florida BFCer, post up your thoughts. Ill start.
taseal - I first met TaSeal on BFC about a year and a half ago, maybe more. We hung out once and have become friends ever since. We spent many hours working on our cars in my driveway. TaSeal is now one of my closest friends.
hoorah - Today taseal and i had a laundry list of things to do on our cars. Hoorah decided to join us in the quest. We all met up at my house and got to work. Hoorah already completed his list before he arrived so he gave us a much needed lending hand. Hes a great guy, helped us a ton and got taseals e34 seat orientated properly. Great guy, definetley hope to meet up with him again, without a 90degree sun and mosquitos harassing us.
M3Jon - Great guy, met him about a year ago at a local meet. He literally walked up to my car and said "WHO OWNS THIS CAR?!" Im like "ME!!!!" So we got to talking ever since and weve become friends. We dont hang out as much as we'd like due to our differing schedules. But when we do, we paint the town red.
Cosmo95m - I met Brandon at a few meets. We only see eachother once every 6 months or so at local meets. Great guy, would definetley hang out with him again.
Now add yours.
taseal 08-27-2007, 03:35 AM for me....
sergek: pretty much what he said, but from my point of view. I can say without hesitation serge and I have become best friends. who woulda thought u'd meet one of your closest friend from the internetz... oh and serge, I think we have known eachother for over a year (2 years, we met like a week after I registered here, which is sept 2005)
m3jon: cool guy for sure, has some sick cars. I've only seen his e36 m3 though, seems to know his electronic stuff pretty good :)
hoorah: Dan. Awesome person as well. he is very helpful, and didn't mind getting his hands dirty helping us out with our cars. nice e34 too! very clean car :)
I think that is all :)
SpeedTheory 08-27-2007, 01:08 PM Ken Peng: Excellent guy. Let me crash at his place in Gainesville before meeting me in person, just based off of what we knew of each other online.
97FLGST: Excellent guy, hung out with him several times during the school year.
DJMinkin: Scammer. I sent the guy perfect-condition, perfect working DEPOs w/HIDs, he reports me to paypal claiming everything was damaged and nothing worked, and refused to file a claim with FedEx or provide photographic evidence that anything was broken. Wouldn't mind meeting him in person.
bimmeracer3 08-27-2007, 10:15 PM Cosmo95m: Awesome guy with an awesome car.
M3NSAH: Meet him at a car meet and we became good friends.
David A: Meet him at a local drifting event. Cool kid. He was also kind enough to let me hold him helmet so that I could get a ride in Dado's car at the drift event.
Hope to meet the rest of you.
hooRAH 08-28-2007, 10:14 AM Hey taseal, glad to hear that you got your seat back in, if only partially. Dunno what happened there, I feel bad that I wasn't able to get it back in.
At least the seat back works now, I suppose thats better than it was.
Serge, how does your car run now after replacing everything?
BTW, I can vouch for Cosmos95m3 (Brandon). He did my transmission on my E34, made me very happy (until the trans failed, not his fault).
Guess I really havent met anyone else. Lets hope that the next time I meet up with people it will be to wax and detail or take photos instead of busting our asses!
SergeK 08-28-2007, 11:33 AM Well, it was still misfiring that day. but the next day it just went away. im gonna buy a vac gauge to see wtf is going on.
cosmos95m3 08-28-2007, 04:49 PM Hey guys,
Bimmeracer3- Met at a couple of different meets. Great guy with a nice car.
SergeK- What he said. We see each other maybe 2-3 times a year but enjoy his company. We have to get together again for some more pics.
hooRAh (dan)- Met him on the forums. I did swap his tranny out. Very nice guy and wouldn't mind hanging out with him again. Btw- what's the deal with your tranny?
iHeartmyiPod (Jesse)- Good friend of mine. He is a trader on the BMW and bought an S4. Good guy.
m3j0n 08-29-2007, 01:46 AM First off, GREAT IDEA/GREAT THREAD!!
Yes, you have one of the hottest e36 328s around. Go figure that it picks up guys like me as well as women.. HAHAHA Dont worry our schedules will change and we'll start painting the town estoril blue!......(yes, i know that was lame)
m3jon: cool guy for sure, has some sick cars. I've only seen his e36 m3 though, seems to know his electronic stuff pretty good :)
Much appreciated!! I was disappointed that you had to get rid of your black e36. You were really making that car look amazing! When you and serge get a bit more free time, ill meet up and show you the e-fo-sex... the e36 is still in the bodyshop having some cool stuff done. I have been driving the e46 exclusively for like two months now. I will be having a photoshoot once i get that car back and some of the new parts for my e46 installed. You guys should join me!
AS for my experiences with people that ive met on this forum:
A few of the people that Ive met in person are total and complete D-bags; im talking about people that you wouldn't piss on even if they were on fire...As for the other guys, they are amongst the best that humanity has to offer. Although im an south florida OG member, most of my time "on bfc" was back in the day when I was in college (TN) so a bunch of the people ive met are from that area. As far as good members (im not gonna post the bad ones) that ive met in FL, here goes:
Kevlar: Met him back in the OG days when he had his white e36 at a hooters BMW meet. Kevin is an awesome, awesome guy; always willing to help out. And a pretty good gokarter to boot ;). Only negative: wont hook me up with the posters... AHHAHA
Silver323: Met him at a meet back in college. Back then he lived in Mississippi, but he lives in destin, FL so that counts. Ray is another fantastic human being. So very cool and down to earth. His g/f is great too! I hope they are still together (last time i checked they were).
Taseal: Met him in sergeK's driveway fixing his busted angel eye while we were getting killed by mosquitoes.. I havent spent much time with Emir, but he seems like a very cool guy.. Serge is a pretty good judge of character, so Emir has to be legit :). Hopefully, I'll get to hang out with him more in the future
SergeK: Met him at a local ricer meet that i stopped by. Basically, I was jsut walking by, saw his car, and instantly got a hard on :). I asked to see the owner and was amazed that he was even cooler than his car. Serge is an amazingly kind-hearted person with the ability to arm-bar you until you shit yourself. Definitely an awesome guy that im glad to call my friend.
kensama05- I met him at a m5 meet where hardly anyone showed. We went out to lunch that day and have met up a couple times since then. His blue e36 was the most amazing color ive ever seen on an e36 non-m 2dr. I believe it was montreal or mauritius blue. I was honestly in a daze with the styling he had done to that car. Its a shame that it was totalled recently. Ken is one of the funniest guys youll ever meet with the best sens of humor; hes definitely a pimp even though he totally denies it! Also, he has the most bad ass graphic design skillz evar! Hes a 1337 h4x0r! :) Again, definitely an awesome guy that im glad to call my friend.
As for you other GOOD FL guys that I have met, but cant remember right now at 2AM, I apologize.:lol To the other GOOD FL peeps on here, I can't wait to meet you!:buttrock
-Jon
SergeK 08-29-2007, 03:00 AM Oh man, ofcourse, Kensama!
I remember there was a meet near the CheeseCake Factory in Boca. Only 4 of us showed up. Me, Ken, Jon and someone on here with a White 328. I was circling the lot looking for some BMWs.. i saw ken drive by and i gunned it across the parking lot, got right on his ass to let him know im a member. We parked, then a few minutes later jon showed up.The white 328 left after a few minutes., we got tired of waiting and went to some BBQ place to eat.
Kens car was absolutley the HOTTEST color E36 i have EVER seen. The Umnitza wheels he had on there were equally amazing with the car. Damn shame it got totalled.
m3j0n 08-30-2007, 07:36 PM i guess there are only like 5 of us.... HAHAHA
hooRAH 08-30-2007, 09:14 PM And yet theres a whole lot more bimmers in south florida - especially at the track, like sebring or moroso. I guess they dont come on the forums too much.
Looking forward to meeting some of you sometime (preferably the ones with lifts in their garage and BBQ grills....jk)
Raven Fox 08-31-2007, 03:18 PM Raven Fox – Nice person, likes dogs, swimming, medicine, and old people. Knows little to nothing about cars …..yet, but is ready to learn. We go WAY back and ate lots of chocolate and pizza washed down with diet coke, together.
(i want to see if this flies with the OP...well i HAVE met myself harhar)
hooRAH 09-04-2007, 03:54 PM Knows little to nothing about cars …..yet, but is ready to learn.
Well, its a great way to start around here. There are lots of helpful pros and amateurs that are willing to lend a hand for pizza and beer, and there is a LOT of support when you go to the track!
bimmeracer3 09-04-2007, 07:41 PM If anyone is interested in meeting up and going to that meet at towers this Sunday, I will be more than down as long as I dont have to work.
or
We should all meet up at a bar like bone fish (island jacks now) and hang out. I will be there on weds. if anyone is also interested in that.
Let me know.
hooRAH 09-05-2007, 09:37 AM I'd like to do that, but might not be able to this week. My new transmission is supposed to come in on Thursday and I've got to get on installing it. I should be around this weekend though.
SergeK 09-05-2007, 05:36 PM Lemme know if you need help/.

Thanks Serge, some help would be good but Im not going to make anyone drive out to Wellington where I'm going to do the job.
Also, I'm probably going to have to work on Satuday and I have a car to clean on Sunday morning before going to a lunch party sunday afternoon, so I don't even think Im going to get to it this weekend anymore.
If anything, I'll get it in the garage and up on the stands, but thats about it.

Yeah I can't quite imagine working on cars and eating chocolate, just can't picture it :) Something tells me the PBblaster and 10w30 on your hands would modify the taste a bit :)

I could see eating chocolates if it was a Rolls Royce.

Had a 5series ... past tense, using the mighty 8cylinder as a daily driver wasn't such a good idea. This weekend is busy, but I think next weekend is free...

figures, this weekend im free and next weekend ill be in the keys doing some hardcore fishing. Are you completely booked during the week?
Kevlar 09-08-2007, 11:11 AM During the week is fine... but I normally don't get back here until about 6pm. Thursday I'm off all day. Friday I am unsure about yet.
If you are going to the keys, more than likely you can detour off the FL Turnpike down Sawgrass down I75 by my place and then pick up the Turnpike again from I75 after you grab the stuff.
bOOsted335 09-30-2007, 03:55 AM any chiks???
