hey folks...bout to wrap this up, but need to tap into a Key-on power source under the hood.

Zionsville says a diagnostic connector, but i cannot locate one under the hood after talking to a fellow 5'er.

Goto step 4...that's the power source used for the AE's if you want DRL....it's key on power.

find this red wire with a white stripe in the electrical box under the passenger cabin filter.
It's the wire you need. Tap it for 12v+ with ignition on. I am using it for DRL angel eyes.

I ran a wire to the fusebox and plugged it into the port for the heated rear seats since I don't have one. The fan won't be fused, but it will be a swtched 12v source.

Got it...

by some fortune of the BMW gods...I tapped the big red/white wire under the fuse cover inside the engine compartment.

Glad to see that i did something correctly without any hints.
