Is it ok to patch a RFT?

Well, run flat tires are only sopose to last a certain amount of miles at 60mph. But as long it is not a sidewall that is punctured. I don't see any harm

you can patch a rft tire like any other tire... except if the damage is in the sidewall where you cannot patch...

As long as the tire was not run on flat you can plug and patch them. If you run on them flat they can not be repaired. When the tiers are run with no air pressure there is a lot of heat built up in the tire and it will ruin the sidewall of the tire.

I thought so... A gentlemen in a lexus pulled up to our shop bay and asked. My super visor refused to do it and said, "we can not patch run flat tires because of the rubber compound it is made out of".
