My car alarm constantly goes off when no one is attempting to violate my baby. At first I thought it a sensativity issue with the alarm due to the consturction of new homes in my neighborhood, but it now goes off all the time.
bad trigger switchs (hood, door, trunk)
dying battery
etc...

Anyone know if the computer logs a history of what sensors triggered the alarm to go off?
My alarm is false alarming every other day now and getting quite annoying. I'd like to find a way to track the culprit. Thanks

I've been told that a readout of the alarm module will tell what sensor is activating the alarm. Having that done generally means a trip to your dealer.

hi, i have '02 540i. maybe somebody knows if my factory security has shock sensor? if i leave open window, turn on security, and put my arm thru the window the alarm starts. but if i kick the wheel it doesn't. maybe it is possible to change the settings, so the alarm would start when you kick the wheel, for example. thanks a lot.

If your battery is weak, it will trigger your alarm...
That's all I know...

You have a motion & tilt sensor as well as for the doors, hood, and trunk. A slight kick of the wheels probably won't set off the alarm...but vibration can. As it states in the owners manual...if you park in a garage, you may want to turn off the motion & tilt sensors...because the vibration from the building can set it off.
