a big grouppe of us are cruising to sandpoint on the 30th of next month...prolly going up to schweitzer as well....just for views.....grab some food at DUBS(local burger joint...REALLY GOOD) then head back

it will be pretty simple as follows:
meet and greet at spokane valley mall at 9-9:30 am on sunday
then leave from there at 10 am by taking trent to Hwy 41
we will follow hwy 41 north till it runs into Hwy 2(beautiful section along the river)
hwy 2 will take us west to dwntwn sandpoint and from there we will head to schweitzer mt. road and proceed to the resort for more pictures.
from there we can decide where to eat(there are good places on the MT)
heading back we will take 95 through to CDA for some different scenery to I90
In total about 150 mi.

scheduled stops:
spirit lake(cheap gas and drinks ;))
the sand pit for pictures and a break(in between spirit lake and newport)
newport lumber mill for pics
sandpoint beach(to dicuss what to do while in sandpoint)
schweitzer Mt resort
Athol for a break, check oil, get gas, drinks, etc. etc.
then home 8)

and I have a picture of the map but permissions wont let me post it

how far of a drive from salem?

prolly about 7hrs.....if doing the speed limit

I might be able to make this. I have a buddy in Spokane, and I could visit him, and head out with the group up to Sandpoint. Then back to Great Falls, MT.

Kind of OT, but the weekend before is the drive to St. Regis, you want to try and get a few together and meet us there?

Probably wouldn't be able to make that one. Plus there's only a few Bimmers in Montana it seems, lol. It would work better for me to go to Spokane the next week. Then take the trip up to Sandpoint and either head east from there, or back down to Coeur D'Alene and back east home.

Just got to thinking, Sept 30 seems pretty iffy on weather. What's it like up in the moutains around there that time of year?

Maybe..not sure if I wanna make the drive out to Spokane yet, def. worth it but just not sure if I really want to...Maybe if some guys in the Seattle area are willing to meet up and make the drive over...

there are a bunch of VWs and audis meeting up for sure.....I think they are leaving friday night or Sat. morning....ill see if I can find a thread.

S.O.B!!!! I have to work Monday! A worker got orders to Iraq and has to be full time guard till he goes. Now I'm stuck doing his monday after I asked for it off a month ago. I know the cruise is on Sunday, but it's just to far away for me to have to drive back after.
