since the ///M is in the shop my dad let me barrow the mustang gt(auto). it was about 1am and i was on my way home cruising at 75,suddenly a mercedes s550 passes me up fast, maybe like 110mph? i thought nothing of it.:devillook

so now im cruising along in the carpool and notice the s550 slowing down. i roll up next to him at 85(matching his speed). my passenger tries signaling him to go but he doesnt respond. i speed up slowly to see if he bites and he does.

first race: i pass him up with ease 90-110 about 4 cl's(i thought that mbz was faster then that??)

second race from a dig: i let him pass me up by a couple cars and then responded, passed him up by about 5 cl's to 130mph. :eyecrazy never noticed how much of a damn beast my dads mustang is. fully stock no mods. reached 130 in 4th around 4900 rpms and it wanted to keep going. thank god there were no cops.

third race: i started two car lengths behind him(hmm..there he goes with his ricer fly by, should i??) he was about 4 cars ahead , i easily caught up and pulled up to 135 by 4,5,6 cl's. he slows down as do i.....

i had called it a kill a while ago and he does another gay fly by while i was cruisng at 75mph. i just waved ;) all is fair. heh.... its funny how some people get butthurt when there driving, specially when they have a car that cost 3x the price of yours.
ive underestimated the powers of the mustang i thought the s550 would have put up a better fight, guess not.
this was my first time pushing the mustang that hard since its my dads car and all.... i gotta say this thing will eat my m3 for breakfast.

An E550 would have done much better, I would guess. I'm surprised the weight of the S550 made that much of a difference at speed.

BTW, a "dig" usually means from a stop, a standing start, not from a roll....

I wouldnt think an auto stang would be much quicker than a stock m3.

My girlfriend in her SLK350 7A with ESP ON was beating one up at the dragstrip while she was running 14.1s @ 99mph.

Another time a new GT with FI (supercharged) was running high 11s on a day some C6s, myself, F-bodies and GTOs were all mucking around and floundering in our "stockness" in the 13.3-13.8 range.

I wouldnt think an auto stang would be much quicker than a stock m3.

i think the m3 would keep up 0-60 but that v8 kicks in extra hard after 100mph, believe me you can feel the difference.

sorry a bone stock mustang gt isnt' going to kill a S550 esp on the highway.
1. 300p vs 382hp
2. 4 *maybe 5 spd auto vs 7spd auto
3. the s550 might outweight but at highway speeds weight is less of a factor
4. racing from a "dig" is a dead stop kinda hard to do 2-3 races from a dig on a highway
5. Mercedes Benz limited there cars to 130mph *AMGs excluded maybe sport models too*

first off the s550 is a boat. 1/4 mile is about the same. but the mbz weights about 500lbs more then the mustang 3700lbs-4200lbs

my bad i thought a dig meant that one of the cars starts from a couple car lengths back, oops:)

the s550 is limited at 132mph we raced up to 135mph twice from about 90 and i gained on him by a lot. i wouldnt take the mustang passed that limit it just doesnt feel safe....i noticed he was able to keep up with me from 75-90 about a couple cars back, but after 100 i would shut it down, he tried so many times its not even funny. my passenger reffered to him as a "bitch" because he kept trying to fly by and couldnt. :rolleyes


i dont mind you pulln the b.s flag because its your opinion. but get your facts straight! the 5sp gt can do the quarter mile in 13.5 bone stock with a good driver. do not underestimate the ponies of this slushbox, im not one to b.s.
