I was on my way home from work and this pewter C5 silver corvette 'vert had the initial thought of pulling out to the left lane b/f the light, but decided to get in behind me (must have heard my exhaust...). we get on the on-ramp (a nice banked curve) for a 3 lane interstate. i'm still in 3rd gear (~45-50mph) and when i find an opening, i gunned it with the corvette close behind (he made a move as if he was going to pass...). we both head to the fast lane, and i stop his gain on me and gained on him. i shut down at 90-100 because of upcoming traffic.

i slow down and move over to let him pass and give him a thumbs up. i'm grinning from ear-to-ear, and he has a sheepish grin and acknowledges the thumbs up.

I'm not sure if he was manual or auto, and whether or not it was an '99/'00 (345hp) or '01+ (350hp). i was pleased with my car's performance since i hadn't had much fun since running with an '03-'04 cobra in SC back in june. before the BS flags come up, i know i beat at least the driver if not the car.

my mods: AA LTW flywheel, Stage 2 clutch; SSK; Dinan exhaust, throttle body, chip, and ....

o yeah Vortech S/C :redspot

Good kill. That's the expected outcome given the fact he's making probably around 285 at the wheels and his car is heavier. What are your numbers?

Thanks. Dynoed at 295 RWHP/252 RWTQ (more like 285-290 with correction factors) with failing O2 sensors and MAF back in February.

Sounds about right to me. Vert actually isn't very much heavier at all than a coupe in the C5. Good run!
