i was going out to pickup my gf, as i came out of the neighborhood i wound out 1st and 2nd gear, i didnt see the cop comming down NC-55 behind me...the speed limit was 50 and i wasnt paying attention to the speedometer (stupid me), and i turned onto another street he pulled me over. i did the whole calm and collected thing and he told me i was going 70 in a 50. now im only 17 and forgot i hadnt gotten my after 9/more than 1 passenger in the car, so he also gave me a driving without a license fine. im going to fight it, but any other suggestions?
i guess i need to pay more attention to my speed.

I used to live in Holly Springs and worked in RTP. Cary police are well known for being "by the book" and very careful to get convictions for traffic violations.
You might get lucky with a prayer for judgment, but don't count on it.
If I were you (and could at all afford it) I would hire a lawyer.

I suggest you don't speed on 55 in Cary, haha. My mom used to work for the town of Cary and she says that Cary has more cops per capita than any other city in the US. I lived there for a few years during high school, and from what i saw I believe her.

My suggestion is manning up and admitting you made a stupid mistake. It will look better to the judge if you show some humbleness instead of hiring a lawyer to get a 17 year old out of a speeding ticket in a BMW.
At least in theory that works...
