View Full Version : Fog trim rings/Paint shop Dallas area?? blackie2 08-23-2007, 05:19 PM I need to get some fog light trim rings painted to match my car and would appreciate any info on a decent paint shop in the Dallas area. Thanks in advance. razahyde 08-23-2007, 05:57 PM any paint shop can do that. its not going to be that big a deal. sunnywala 08-23-2007, 07:43 PM good info raza, i'm sure he appreciated it lol Iron Chef 08-23-2007, 10:31 PM good info raza, i'm sure he appreciated it lol Seriously, do you have anything positive to contribute? razahyde 08-24-2007, 12:53 AM good info raza, i'm sure he appreciated it lol dude, its foglight trim. i wasnt trying to be an asshole. i voiced my opinion and stated that any paint shop can do it. the trim is so small it wouldnt make sense paying a lot to have it painted. but what do i know. right? Greg S 08-24-2007, 02:26 AM Are they the Mtech II/M3 ones? They sell them pre-painted online. blackie2 08-24-2007, 09:12 AM No the parts are new primed replacements and I also have some brake covers for my MTech Aero bumper that I need painted too. That's why I'm looking for a reasonable shop to do the work otherwise I'll just rattlecan it and drive everyone nuts on this board.... elemental59437 08-24-2007, 12:49 PM A+ Autobody and Motorbay in Plano does all my paint work, I hit a concrete divider head on in my Mazda and this is how it looked after he was done, there were no spots that would suggest it had ever been wrecked. He even shaved the door handles and painted the mirrors among other things. I just had him paint a spoiler for the M too. Tell him the guy with the yellow mazda sent you. http://rampagedesigns.com/vividgallery/albums/dyno%20day/normal_random_035.jpg juanillo650i 08-24-2007, 06:57 PM New Concept Paint in plano texas, he does all the repairs and paint for lamborgini dallas, and has done a lot of things for me, plus he is very reasonable. Talk to bruce 972 578 1220. elemental59437 08-25-2007, 02:40 PM New Concept Paint in plano texas, he does all the repairs and paint for lamborgini dallas, and has done a lot of things for me, plus he is very reasonable. Talk to bruce 972 578 1220. I have heard and seen a lot of horror stories with New Concept. I took my car there for an estimate and it was actually cheaper than the place I ended up going but I felt like the guy wasn't listening to me and his estimate didnt include a lot of the work that I wanted done. I didnt want a surprise bill at the end. For this job, trim rings should be no big deal for any shop though. blackie2 08-25-2007, 04:42 PM My brother is a dentist and has done some work for the owner of a local paint shop where he lives. I called the owner and he's painting all the parts for $60 bucks and for that price I can't argue about it. The biggest laugh I got was from the Roadrunner shop in Plano who said the job would take "four" hours of labor plus materials, i.e., around $275 dollars or more. Stuart's never would return my calls, GTI insisted that I bring my car in so the tech could "match the paint" since no BMW color is the same even with the color code under the hood, Classic BMW couldn't believe I actually had new BMW parts that I wanted painted and basically refused to give me a quote since I guess I didn't buy the parts from them, finally New Concepts gave a good estimate and if I hadn't mentioned the work to my brother I'd have gone to them for the job. Thanks for everyone's help on this little project. QuestMCoupe 08-25-2007, 06:59 PM Whats the name of the place you decided on? elemental59437 08-25-2007, 08:52 PM A+ Autobody and Motorbay in Plano I was just there to have my spoiler buffed earlier today. blackie2 08-25-2007, 11:04 PM Straight Line Collision in Cedar Hill. blackie2 09-05-2007, 05:15 PM Got the parts back from the paint shop and they did a really great job.
