I am looking at a 2000 323i wagon, automatic tranny with lower miles, 99K miles on the vehicle, and blown engine.

How much should I offer for it?

I plan to replace the engine myself, any idea how much that can run (new and used)?

Thanks for the reply.

Just out of curiosity, how much would an original (323i) engine run price-wise?

if body is in good condition, no more then 5k, because thats the going rate for a wagon at the auction. + $3k for a motor youll have a give or take $7k Wagon on the road....
