lots of little mods i don't feel like posting..
mind you this is a track prepped street car that is daily driven, and i take it to the track and i take it autox any chance i can get if funds are readily available.
On with it already--
Anyhow its about 1 am and I heading home after hanging out with some friends.
whats this? *rumble rumble rumble* intercooler? And so I spot this evo passing by going the same direction as i pull out from my parking spot on the side of Ventura Blvd. I just go as normal, but I was eying that evo. And as I picked up speed, i noticed he slowed down, but not with his brakes--slow enough that I caught up to him within 20 seconds.
Of course the first thing that goes through my mind....where's the cops...this is Ventura Blvd......no don't see any.
So I give the accelerator a little nudge, just enough to get my bov to make some noise right at his passenger side window. I see him looking at my car and I checked his car out as usual, and were still rolling at about 45ish mph.
So he initiates it. I hear him down shift into 2nd from 3rd and he boogies, so i follow suit and catch up. Now we have each other's interest. We cruise down a little and just so happen to find a conveniently located red light. I look over and he looks back over at me.
He asks me "how much did you put into that car?" I said probably around 5g's....but thats including the car itself
I'm just sitting in my car, feeling the humid cold air pass through the cabin, red glare from the signal on the dash and in the windows. The rumble of my straight pipe echoes through my car and I can here a slight drone of his exhaust. I hear his exhaust note raise to indicate hes readying for launch, so i do the same. Intersecting lights turn yellow, i feel the anticipation of a green.
Light turns green.
I see the evo jump out in front and im sitting there spinning in 1st. Ok, fine, don't hook up. So i slam it into 2nd and after some modest wheel spin, I finally catch it and at this point hes already a good 2 cars ahead. The turbo finally spools up some useful power and within a good 3 seconds all I hear is spoolage, the perfect sound of a BMW inline 6 muffled by a turbo, amplified by the straight piping.
I slam it into 3rd. This is where all the power comes in, aided by the cool night air. Im at his tail lights....now his front fender...approaching 5500 rpms...now hes in my side view and slowly becoming visible in my rear view.
Im sorry poor thing, but I just gave you two cars and I still ate you alive.
As we slow down, a grin appears from my left ear to my right. I modestly eat my grin and put on the "serious-yet-cool face" on..lol
As he pulled up, him and his passenger look over and the driver yells, "Dude, Your turbo's really loud!"
me: "I didn't know you could hear it from back there." (what an asshole comment! lol)
His smile disappeared like someone shot his dog, and he seriously wanted to run again, from a roll.
So as we go from a roll, were both in second and he floors it. I look out my window and I floor it in response. By the time I shifted into 3rd, I was already a fender ahead, and when the boost in 3rd gear kicked in, I smoked his JDM awd turbo ass. I mean c'mon really, did i need to bring shame to you? then slap you with a side of Shame on top of that? lol.
What a good night, What a great feeling.
