Anyone know what it weighs without a tire on it, is it considered a lightweight wheel?

View Full Version : What does the stock ZHP wheel weigh? imolarotzhp 08-22-2007, 03:26 PM Anyone know what it weighs without a tire on it, is it considered a lightweight wheel? LaunchBackwards 08-22-2007, 03:48 PM It's on the heavy side: Front: 28.5 lbs. Rear: 29 lbs. From bimmerfest. 328isguy81 08-22-2007, 03:53 PM It's on the heavy side: Front: 28.5 lbs. Rear: 29 lbs. From bimmerfest. I was afraid of that. Was that with a few pounds of brake dust on each wheel though?:D I hate cleaning these wheels:mad G. P. Burdell 08-22-2007, 03:55 PM Foam-tipped swabs make cleaning those wheels a lot easier. :) LaunchBackwards 08-22-2007, 03:56 PM Yes, they are a pita to clean, so I stopped cleaning them. When I cared, I used foam paintbrushes though, worked pretty well. imolarotzhp 08-22-2007, 04:08 PM This is my solution to cleaning.. http://www.nick4.com/images/bmw/wheelz.jpg I'm leaning very heavily to order these, I have my cart filled up at tirerack, i'm on the payment screen all i have to do is hit proceed and i won't have to clean up brake dust anymore. And now that I know these wheels are lighter than the zhp's it's getting even harder. 328isguy81 08-22-2007, 04:16 PM This is my solution to cleaning.. http://www.nick4.com/images/bmw/wheelz.jpg I'm leaning very heavily to order these, I have my cart filled up at tirerack, i'm on the payment screen all i have to do is hit proceed and i won't have to clean up brake dust anymore. I think if you're going to go aftermarket you can do better. My opinion though. Those wheels really match your car well though. imolarotzhp 08-22-2007, 04:58 PM ASA AR1's? yep, asa ar1's For the look and price i was aiming at I can get them wrapped with pirelli's for $1400 shipped. You can't beat that with a stick. BBS' are mostly heavier, and I don't want a race wheel. the ar1's stagger too. Most wheels that i like other than these are 4-800 bucks each wheel without tires. That's hard to justify. LaunchBackwards 08-23-2007, 12:00 AM You should look into the OZ Ultraleggeras. Have you considered non-staggered? I'm running BBS NS at the moment, and it's the best thing I did so far to get rid of some of the understeer. WIBMWLOVER 09-04-2007, 10:29 PM If you think the ZHP wheels are tough to clean try the 17" OEM sport wheels on the XI. Are you looking to get rid of your ZHP wheels? |
