View Full Version : St. Louis People?
Patrick33 03-09-2003, 06:40 PM I know that there is more than 3 people here from St. Louis. Where are you guys? I see tons of BMW's and quite a few that are modded. Yesterday I saw a Laguna Seca e46 m3 on 19" SSR Gt3s at my cc. Everyone check in!
Brent_Vino 03-12-2003, 01:18 AM i dont think people here get involved like us.... the bmw chapter here is ok.. they only do drives maybe once every other month or 2 in the spring and summer...
we should get together and kick it without them..
ADRNLN_ti 03-12-2003, 03:41 AM You guys must be on crack !?!?
I just met up with 4 guys from St Louis and we drove down to Road Atlanta for the weekend. The local chapter had a driver's school, we all attended and had a blast. The cars were a LTW, 2 M3’s and a GTI.
Next time you want to find real BMW enthusiasts check the track.

Brent_Vino 03-12-2003, 11:36 AM aside from guys that track their cars, nobody around here just wants to get together and kick it or do a drive, hang out and take pics of ur cars.... im not driving down to atlanta. compared to other cities around here on this forum, st. louis is not for bmw enthusiasts.
I just got into Bmw last oct. I've had a ton of problems, but I love the car. Haven't joined the cca chapter yet. I'm glad to see someone has started a stl thread. I'm not hardcore about meeting up, eating and cruising. But I'd love try to help out any diy projects. Or any info on any good local roads.
EvanL 03-12-2003, 05:20 PM Columbia, MO guy here... The StL BMW club seems somewhat involved, although I always go with the KC (Audi, BMW, and Porsche) guys when it comes to track events.
Brent_Vino 03-12-2003, 10:52 PM evanL.....
when i visit this girl that goes to mizzou, i'll let u know and we could hook up for a few beers.
nice roads in st louis... Highway 94 ... give that one a whirl :-)
Patrick33 03-12-2003, 11:15 PM highway 94? where is that? the fun ones i go on are hog hollow, mason, and a couple other farm roads down by hog hollow.
Patrick33 03-12-2003, 11:16 PM Im really suprised that there arent more people though. Today I saw 4 M5s, a Tire Rack M3, and probably 100 red 3 series verts.
All those BMW's you see in StL are just people that want to drive a nice car, they aren't enthusiasts. That's why there's no one here.

yeah, hwy 94 going out to the wineries.... dood, u gotta go when it gets warm.
where the heck are these roads u are talking about? ive never heard of those!?@:dunno
Patrick33 03-14-2003, 10:11 AM what!?!?! where do you live! Hog hollow is like the most famous road for st. louis street racing. and mason is off of manchester by wendy's and white castle. There are also a bunch of farm roads by hog hollow.
Brent_Vino 03-14-2003, 07:41 PM why would someone want to go for a nice drive on a street that is used for street racing??? you want twisties and some open road...
Mason rd and manchester... i know where that is.. farm roads? i dont wanna take my car on dirt roads.
Patrick33 03-15-2003, 01:03 AM no, there is a part of hog hollow that is really windy and downhill, then there is a 4 mile straight and flat, then more twists. The "farm" roads are probably the best pavement ive been on. (perfect black asphalt)
Brent_Vino 03-18-2003, 03:48 AM how do i get to hog hollow from 270
Patrick33 03-18-2003, 10:30 PM get off of 270 at olive and go west (away from plaza motors). Take olive down past 141. about a mile and a half/2miles down, you will see a phillips 66 and rl steamers on the left. hog hollow is after that and directly before the second phillips 66 on the right. Oh and btw, you will probably see at least one exotic in the parking lot of rl steamers. usually a viper/ferarri/nsx/911 turbo/lotus among others. I live across the street from there so i see exotics all the time. the beginning part of HH is really downhill and windy ( be careful with the first turn) then it straightens, turns right, hard left, 4 mile straight. and then a right again. Then, turn left and you will be in the bottoms. If you go right on marine there is a hilly windy section that will take you to dorsett. There are also a couple more roads down there that are really windy that i cant remember the names of that are off of creve coeur mill. I think that mason is one of the more fun ones too if you get on it with noone infront of you. To get there, take the same way but turn left on 141(woodsmill) and then take it to conway, turn left, and then you will hit a T ntersection and you turn right now you are on mason.its straight for a while, and then it starts to get really windy after the intersection by the Fire department. Have fun!
Patrick33 03-18-2003, 10:31 PM oh, on the bottom of the hill of HH there are railroad tracks, dont take these at speed, they are kinda rough.
Brent_Vino 03-20-2003, 01:50 AM what about cops in that area?
Johno 03-20-2003, 02:25 PM I live in Manchester.
For a nice drive, I like to take the back road behind six flags, past the parks, and then turn right at the stop sign and take the back road to rockwood reservation. It's one lane curing through trees. Real pretty. Some residential areas, but there is a lot of unpatrollable space.
You can have a fun drive, but deer are a potential problem.

when you hit the bottom of the hill, there is a water resivoir purifying plant thing. there is a cop that just sits there guarding it from terrorist attacks. they are not allowed to leave thier post however so dont worry. But, since the 4 mile straight is known for street racing. I would make a runthrough first before topping your car out.
Brent_Vino 03-21-2003, 09:48 PM we all should hook up and go to these places and run our cars thru these twisties and straights:wave:
PeteK 03-27-2003, 12:29 PM I just found this site because of Patrick! Thanks man, this looks like a pretty cool site!
I used to be a moderator on the BMWPlanet board, but for some reason it's been down for a month and the Admins won't return my emails asking why...
Anyway, I'm a HUGE BMW enthusiast and am VERY involved in local motor sports, particularly with the SCCA. Anytime you guys want to hook up for a cruise or beers, let me know... as long as it doesn't interfere with the race schedule :)
BTW - I noticed that a couple of you are Blues fans! My wife and I are totally into hockey too! Sometimes she knows more than I do :)
I just started putting together a site for my cars... Check it out!

I've been trying to get to your site, but it's not coming up? Just went to Monday's game against the Oilers, great game, a shame they didn't win.

Hmmmm, that's strange. I just tried it and the site came up....
What happened with the Oliers!? I missed the end, but the Blues were up 4-2!!!
I'll be glued to the TV for Thurs and Fridays games vs. the Hawks! Unfortunately I'll be autocrossing for the last game against Colorado:(
