I have a 2000 540i and wanted to know if a 1998 740i's seats would be compatible with my car. I looking to change out my sport seats for some 7-series comfort seats.:buttrock

Here's what I did:
I went to the BMW online parts database ( www.realoem.com )
looked up 7 series comfort seat part nbr..highlighted & copied the part nbr
clicked the parts cross reference and pasted the part nbr into the search box to see what other BMW models use the same part nbr

Once you go to the link above...if you click on the link that says DETAILS ON E38 or DETAILS ON E39...it will take you to the list of models...then click on the one that is yours...and it will take you to the exploded view diagram and part nbr index for your car.

BTW, I choose the color of my interior for an example...if yours isn't gray...then you can restart and enter your color. :)
