So when does the annoying banner that holds your hand disappear? :)

Anyway, I have acquired, through a friend that works at a junk yard a 324td in need of some serious love to the driver's side trunk area.

I can't seem to find much info on these old gals, anyone have parts sources etc? I will be having the suspension all changed out and new brakes installed as a matter of course since it has been sitting for a while, along with all other PM that needs to be done. Are there some common upgrades for the E30 chassis you guys can suggest (yes I know search, I will trust me), but mostly I am looking for Canadian parts sources for such upgrades.

Thanks,
Jon

Hey Jon,

There was a guy who owned a garage and an E30 just outside of Greenwood (Towards Middleton on the back roads)...probably one of the few E30s in the area. If I ever manage to find the details of his whereabouts, I'll send them off to you and he may be able to lead you onto some parts and perhaps some cheap labour.

I lived in Greenwood for many...many years and I think that was the only E30 that I recall to have seen. How is Greenwood nowadays? still a boring dirt pile?

Oh yeah...banner? what banner?

I have to ask what banner as well?

I have to wonder why E30s (or any 15-20 year old Bimmers) are so rare down East. Do they rot? Are they just not as popular as pickups and Tauri? Anyway, nice score, I don't think many E30 diesels made it here. The lack of E30s down home makes finding parts at a junker difficult. Here in Ottawa we have EuroParts, which has quite a selection, but shipping might be an issue, especially for body panels.

Salt water + salt on roads (in winter) = body panel catastrophe.

In comparison to other cars, they're few and far between to begin with so it's no surprise to me that the E30s are even more rare.

I think the "banner" in question prompts a person who has not posted awhile, or just joined, to "help" the forum out by adding their knowledge to a discussion...

Hello canadia. I live in Boston and am planning a trip to PEI for Thanksgiving (yours not ours) and am stopping in Canning NS on the way back down. If there are any parts you need, shoot me a PM and maybe I can meet you somewhere if it helps, we have quite a few junk yards around here, one in the next town over has a Mint Cond. E30, must have been a repo or something but it just came in about a month ago so there shouldn't be too much off of it yet, but just trying to help. Let me know if theres anything you need.
