:)
Id like to get a 10 inch sub or something at some point but yea it sounds pretty good for now. I was surprised by the HK sound system. I never had one in either of my e36's and was suprised how good it sounds for a stock system.

This is the best description of a color ever. Taken from a post on M3post by an italian guy who just threw down coin for an e92 M3. The entire post is pretty hilarious with some decent pics so I suggest reading it, very Gerd-esque, here is the linky and text: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76730

"White: I agree with …JUS as for his post….It is not so special seen in person. I wanted the white one and I am happy to have avoided this choice. Flat final impression. Red one: fantastic style, much better than by posts and pictures. The interiors are not bad and not so yellow as they seemed. Not a color for me, I am sure that after 6 months it twill be bore me. Interlagos Blue: there is too much purple effect in my opinion and not so nice contrast between the carbon “black” roof and the color. It is only my opinion. Sparkling Grafite: it is a “sad” color…very dark and not elegant. Not bad, it is sportive color but not brillant and too dark. I would say….sad color. Black Jerez: fantastic effect. I would say she seems like a predator. The gray interiors are great. Only you will loose forever the multiple details that the car has…So it is a choice to renounce or not to these details. Finally I sew one color that raped me. I sew the Silverstone one. Fan…tas…tic!!!why? like for the m5, it is changing to a light azur into the effect of the sun. So it is not so light as you can see from the post from the Italian circuit of Misano Adriatico . In that post, in those pics you see a very clear gray…I didn’t love those pics, but I have to say that by person the car raped my fantasy, and took my breath. The details are so evident…So evident!!!"

Alright guys, I need help with ideas for a birthday gift...for me! Folks didn't know what to get me for my 25th so they said to just pick something out I want and they'll pickup the tab (within reason up to a ceiling of $200-$250). I was originally thinking of having them pick up one of the new tires that I have to buy, but I'm a little on the fence about it. Also in the running are the ///M steering wheel from the e46 m3 or a portable GPS unit.

Cliff Notes: Birthday Gift, Car Related, $200-$250 ceiling.

Ditto. In pictures I honestly wasn't enthralled with the design of the 335 coupe, but seeing more than a few around the city has changed my opinion of the car 180 degrees. Whereas I originally found it to be a bland, slightly piggish design, I now feel that it's both svelte and taut with the sheet metal pulled tightly around the skeleton.

I think that seeing [and moreover, hearing] the e92 M3 with ignite a dangerous, very expensive infatuation.

So I got a new camera yesterday, and was carrying it around with me today at work taking pics. I was giving lessons in the shade today under this big tree cause I couldn't find any of my 10 hats I have in my office, and there was a squirrel just chilling hanging from a tree looking at me. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/carreviews/grouptests/210318/porsche_cayman_s.html

Leave it to the Brits to be honest. I have badge envy for a reason, but I stick to my statement from the other night regardless of that article making mention of the 911 and it being a status symbol and the Cayman being for drivers. I recently sat in a CaymanS and then directly into a 911, only one evoked any sensation of desire for ownership and it was wholeheartedly due to what it was: I'll give you one hint, it was not the CaymanS.

I think that seeing [and moreover, hearing] the e92 M3 with ignite a dangerous, very expensive infatuation.

Doubtful, you'll still be better off with an E46 M3 w/ mods. Think about what a 25k M3 w/ enough mods to equal the cost of the E92 could do...try obliterate the E92 in all aspects of it now obvious meager existence.

Oh, I totally agree that an e46 M3 is the unchallenged direction to go in regards to my next vehicle, but that's not to say that the E92 wont quietly insert it's hooks into the deepest, darkest part of my psyche and start pawing around for the next few years.

The E92 has a LOT to prove given the platform change from I6 to V8 and the car's considerable weight but I still think that it's too early discount the potential of the car to become a wolf in cashmere clothing. Just because out of the gate it's not the raw, snarling, crack-fed hell-hound we all (read: the enthiusiast community) hoped it would be doesn't mean that it's going to remain a docile GT indefinitely. Strip out a few hundred pounds of bangle-bratwurst excess, open up waste stream with an indignant sounding exhaust, and pull the refined suspension in trade for race-bred coils and the e92 nearly doubles its appeal.

It's going to be a very interesting year for the BMWphiles with the release of the e92 and subsequent genesis of aftermarket mods, the introduction of the 135i [and perhaps the sacrilegiously named M1], and the depreciation of the e46 M3 increasing it's accessibility to a new demographic looking to move up to the next level [i.e. me!].

I think I have goosebumps. :D

Very well written and I agree on basically all accounts. Especially the last paragraph. The 135 will be interesting simply because it really only goes halfway back to BMW's roots (car came in way over weight) and in all honesty it looks a little too feminine for a sports coupe. Plus let's be serious an M is an M is an M, so be prepared for little kids to be running around in a 135 with an Mtechnic kit thinking life is grand and they understand BMW and its heritage and tuning. Ironically, BMW will phase that motor out by 2010 as it was simply a place holder. BMW really never even wanted to use it. Also watch out for that car being heavily abused considering the exhaust temps are outrageous to begin with and the current tuning community is not understanding that.

Unfortunately the E36 and E46 markets are both driving a new demographic into our community. A plus of course is a higher availability of parts that previously were very expensive(a 6spd tranny swap in the late 90s was almost 6k, now it is 2,500). Also we'll see an even further increase in both models being used for race cars which is great. It will be nice to see some more E46's at DE's.

Yet, naturally the negatives outweigh the positives here.

A younger demographic who will undoubtedly ruin what's left of many a good example of automobile for both the E36 and E46. The biggest problem here is that BOTH are now cheap entry fee cars, the E36 is nominally cheaper to maintain on many accounts comparatively to the E46, but the E46 mods are and will always be on the same cost level as that of a Porsche. Therefore, the new genre of owners will cheap out on quality parts (browse this forum and you'll see it 9 times out of 10 in the members ride section, it is a disgrace to witness) and lead us back to where this paragraph started of cars having questionable backgrounds.

Your modding is going to take all of 58.76235 minutes, if that :stickoutt

Unless your planning an LS-7 swap that you haven't told me about. Might need to get a few more wrenches for that.

Where has NEOT gone? It's lonely round here being all spread out and whatnot over several threads. Thursday night kids, whats going on. Debauchery and Mayhem....where, when, and with who. discuss.

Also those little paper foldy fortune teller things. Real predictors of the future or just an elementary school sham? Discuss.
