Peeps,
Does anyone know how to compare our octane ratings (unleaded, premium unleaded and Optimax/Ultimate, et al) to the US octane ratings?

We use the RON rating, USA usually uses AKI rating. AKI is a higher im pretty sure (91RON is lower octane than 91AKI).
Thats how i understand it anyway.:dunno

SUNOCO offers 94 octane in the US.
Other than that, the highest octane we have is 93, which is what I put in my car.
we can get 98! har har har
NZ and AU use the RON system, while the US uses R+M/2, which gives a lower number.
As far as I can tell, the NZ 98 is about the same or slightly higher than the 93 octane from the States.
