View Full Version : Before & After Pics: Meguiar's NXT Paste Wax
Swordsman 08-20-2007, 09:19 PM I bought a buffer at a yard sale for $4, so I decided to try it out today using Meguiar's NXT paste wax, which is supposedly the greatest thing since sliced bread. Decide for yourself.
I have some faint scratches on my hood that I was hoping to remove. It did make them less noticable.
I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see really judge how it came out, since I was losing my light there toward the end.

Swordsman 08-21-2007, 06:56 PM I found a second application of NXT completely removed the bird crap stain I had on my trunk lid (boot lid for you Limey's). It is like it was never there. :redspot
DeanP 08-21-2007, 09:44 PM Looks nice, love the blue.

straitway7 08-25-2007, 09:04 PM Sweet! But I thought that theses cars could not use that kind of wax. At least that is what others are saying who use Zainos. Hey it looks good to me. Besides that Zanios cost alot of money!
Swordsman 08-26-2007, 01:21 PM and it came highly recommended. In addition to being less expensive than Zaino, you can get some good results with a single application. With Zaino, you have to put on coat after coat. While it reportedly DOES last longer, the extra work for Zaino would be too burdensome for me. It would discourage me from doing the work at all.
The ICE product from Turtle Wax looks a lot like NXT if you read the package, but it was scorned and hated by the detailing forum guys due to the very short time the shine lasts before going to crap. It is pretty expensive too, but not as much as NXT.
Can you do mine as well? Mine is black but it's pretty dirty right now. J/K
Very nice job you did. How long did it take you?
sleepy740 08-26-2007, 04:44 PM damn thats really clean!!!

xtahoex 08-26-2007, 10:59 PM If yall really want to get the lowdown on the best ways to clean your car check out autopia.org best information around straight from the professionals. By they way, no car requires special wax, and never pay for the lifetime sealants that the dealer offers you.
board57796 08-27-2007, 12:20 AM Beautiful car you got there!
Swordsman 08-27-2007, 09:19 AM Thanks, Buck! 750's deserve special treatment, no?
Swordsman 08-27-2007, 09:21 AM dtkw,
The whole process took about three hours. I washed it first, dried it, applied the wax by hand, let it dry, then buffed it with the buffer ($4 at yardsale, $15 at Wal-Mart).
I had never done it before. Once I'm more experienced, I might be able to do it a bit quicker. I may try applying the wax with the buffer sometime too.
