318i of doom vs 1.6 SOHC Vtec EK Coupe

in the red corner... err i mean green corner. we have a stock M43 318i. and in the blue corner.. oh no wait its black.. anyway.. we have a D16 SOHC Vtec Civic Coupe, mods: filter/muffler.

so i know the guy a bit.. anyway. hes on my back bumper looking to egg me on. i notice he has a female passenger so its game on. we get to the same bit of road the slowcus got eaten on and this time the run is from a side by side stand still. i launch a fraction of a second before he does and its all downhill for him from there. im creeping away from the start, 2nd gear creeping away still, 3rd and hes 1-2 cars back, 4th maybe another 1/2 a car then onto the brakes, he gets roasted around the roundabout at the bottom of the road and coming back up the trusty 318 is still in front untill about halfway back up the road when i lift off. he rolls up beside and i give him a big shit eatin grin lol

We didn't get the M43s here. It's an 8-valve 1.8L

I know the motor designations, lol. I just didn't remember there was such a thing as an M43. But Wikipedia (and kiley_sean) proved otherwise. :)

the road aint that long.. was in 4th for about 5 seconds before it was time for the anchors. didnt take that long.. prob seemed less because i was keeping tabs on how far back he was dropping lol

its funny because i thought an sohc vtec would take a 318 once it got moving but it didnt, i just kept walking lol
