Long story short, I am sure you guys remember my wife being the victim in an accident about 3 weeks ago. She is doing well now, after lengthy physical therapy.

The guy that hit her was borrowing a friend's car, which has insurance, however, the driver at the time did not have any insurance. The brilliant atlanta PD did not copy down the car's insurance, just the expired insurance info of the driver. I am trying to find out who owns the car as well as any information regarding his/her insurance.

Can anyone suggest a way to find the insurance info from the tag number?

Unless you know someone at the DMV, I've heard it's quite impossible without police involvement, although private investigators do often times manage to reverse locate the tag.

You can definitely get a PI to do it. Not sure of the legality, but I know they can and will.

Wouldn't your insurance company go to bat for you on that one? Seems to me you give the info to them and they'll do the work...:dunno

I would def. hire a lawyer to help you through all this. Less work for you and probably get alot further then if you were to do it yourself.

Good luck with everything.
