I love this mod! Best bang for the buck when paired up with an M50 manifold.

FWIW I have the timing gear so you can use this pulley with any OBD1 e36 (92-95).

The only difference with OBD1 and OBD2 is the timing ring. For OBD2 you use your stock timing ring and URI provides a special timing ring for OBD1.

I have the OBD1 timing ring if your really interested. You can buy the pulley from him and the timing ring from me.

$30 shipped for the timing ring..

I have a 99 m3, is everything included that I will need to install the pullies on my car? Also I have heard that pullies have an adverse effect on your engine? Is there any truth to this?

It is just the crank pulley and you can't put other pullies on just the stock ones. A possible effect that I have heard is that with this pulley your Harmonic dampner will be eliminated which protects the crank pulley. Also, you shouldn't do this mod if you have a LTW flywheel.

With the proper ring, the pulley will work with the OBD-1 motors, too.

Yes, everything is included that you will need in order to install this mod on your car.

Some general info on this mod:

It is a single red-anodized CNC'ed billet aluminum pulley that repleces the OE crank pulley. It is MUCH lighter in weight than OE, and of a different size so that it mechanically underdrives the AC, PS, Alt, and WP. 75% of the power gain is said to be obtained via the weight reduction. The amount of underdriving is minimal, and does not affect the function of the car's related systems.

Speculation regarding adverse affects:

Whether there is "truth" to the idea that the mod adversely effects your motor is something you will have to research for yourself and draw your own conclusions about (and please keep your conclusions to yourself, as this thread is a FS thread, not a crank pulley debate thread). Like anyone else on this issue, all I can give you is my OPINION and my EXPERIENCE, as there is no empirical data available.

I think it is the best bang/buck modification for these motors, period. I ran mine for 50K+ miles w/ out issue.

would recommend this mod to anyone. Beats doing the full pulley set-up anyday.

Monte you do realize that you cannot use a LTW flywheel and the crank pulley right?

:( srsly? Any reason why? do they counter act each other?

:( srsly? Any reason why? do they counter act each other?

Racers attempted this combo (ltw fly & CP) many years ago and learned that going with BOTH a LTW flywheel and a LTW crank pulley can result in a broken crank.
The mods are mutually exclusive - one or the other.
