Looking to purchase a new exhaust for my 95 525iA. I would like to replace the stock system with somethings that sounds better. I realiize that there is not much performace to be gained just want the change in sound. I have read several post and I am alittle confused about sound. I have read that Remus is quiter than stock, Super Sprint in just as quite. The only one that I have head make a difference is the BavAuto Tri-Flo.

Could you please post your thoughs if you have a after market exhaust. let me know what your impressions are of your exhaust.

please don't get me wrong I don't want to sound like the Rice Burners. I just want a more of a performance sound. As far as other mods. I have a Turner Chip, Modified ECIS Air Intake from a e36.

thanks for you thoughts

i have the remus, it is definately not quieter than stock, low rumble at idle til and gets louder when u accellerate, until about 3000 rpm, then you really cant hear it.

its more of an ambient rumble, perfect in my book. some people say its not loud enough :dunno

and who can beat the look of the square tips on the e34!!! its beautiful

ask rob about the supersprint, i think he has it

i've heard the triflo is pretty loud.. like a dump truck :embarrasm

supersprint is nice. it's slightly deeper and louder than stock at idle and with easy driving (meaning, it's noticeable that there's an exhaust, but it's not annoyingly loud). noticeably a lot deeper and louder at WOT. sounds awesome combined with a CAI. perfect for me.

before i got the supersprint, i was considering an eisenmann. nice exhausts, and you can customize it with how loud you want it (sport performance, high performance, race performance) and what style tips you want.

i also heard remus sounds nice from several people.

if you want a loud exhaust, get a tri-flow.

hey rob, do you have the whole supersprint (center and rear)? SS along w/ BMP say you need both, but I'm kinda sceptical about that.

I'd have to agree with PhatFarm. I had the twin DTM style on my E46 and it definitely wasn't quieter than stock. If you drive a 5 or 7 series you don't want something too loud, it just doesn't make sense. Plus the remus sound is very classy.

yea, it's bullshit. i got the rear supersprint used. it was used for about 1 year before i got it. i took it to a muffler shop, the muffler shop cut my stock muffler off, and welded the supersprint to the stock center resonator. works great.

bmp are dicks about it. they'll insist that you need the center resonator, even if you tell them you only want the rear part. they'll just keep pushing. if you want to go this route, my advice is to tell them you already have the full system, but the rear box got damaged in an accident, so you only need the rear box.

I think that I'm going to settle on the super sprint. I found it with DTM tips. I think that I will also get the resonator also just to complete the package. The reason being is that is does flow alittle better that the stock resonator. :alright

thanks fellas.......

I have the Stainless Steel Super Sprint in my car, it's accually 2 parts, the center resonator and rear muffler. I bet the car dropped 40lbs going to the SS from stock. Twin 76mm tips, polished system, the sound is wonderfull! A LOT deaper then stock, loud under throttle, but not over the top when the law or your family are in the car.

Oh, the FIT WAS PERFECT! Took 20min to install!

i had dtm tips (like the ones pictured, but mine looked better because they didn't stick out a half mile from the bumper like those) on my stock exhaust on the e34, and i thought they just looked ok.

imho, supersprint dtm tips look worst since the way the go up in rounded instead of angled.

i agree, straight big round tips look better.

my $0.02.

Well my thought was more along the line of what Rob said. If the picture above is of the SS DTM then forget it. I was thinking more more like the angle had no gap from the rear bumper guard.... If it sticks out that far then forget it......the round tips would be better.......I just called BMP also and the lady was hard pressed to include the resonator with the muffler.....

Hey Rob when are you guys getting together again in the Bay. I would like to hear your car and see what it sounds like and maybe even someone with a Remus.

Thanks for the pics though...Almost made a mistake w/ the DTM!

Rob who made the DTM you had on before???

IMHO, DTM tips are NOT for the stock bumper!

Yea, we still do, but have not for a while now. A bunch of us were at the car show last Saturday.

well, i guess what i was trying to say is that i think supersprint's dtm tips don't look as nice since the way they're angle up is rounded (soft angled). plus, again, i think dtm's only look ok on the e34.

told you bmp will insist you need the center resonator no matter what.

not sure when the next bay bimmerz meet will be. i will be down in santa barbara on april 12th for bimmerfest tho.

i had some generic stainless steel dtm tips (hard angled) welded to my stock exhaust back in the day.

here's a pic of supersprint's dtm's.

There is ANOTHER Super Sprint group buy going on also!

That price is not for the Stainless steel on, it's for the regular one.

$395 isn't bad for the rear can. bmp sells their's for $463. i got the black rear can. anyway, here's an old skool pic of my car for kicks (stock exhaust w/ dtm tips)...

i like sideswept DTMs.
but maybe they'll only look good on E30s..

i had upwswept DTMs on my E34 before and thye're nice.

his my E30 with Borla muffler and 3inch sideswept DTMs.
a little "rusted"..

I love it. I have had supersprint before and the sound it similar.
I like the fact the Eisenmann is German made and all stainless.
Nice deep, throaty note. Made my car sound like a V-8 should.
I can go on a trip and not have top listen to it. but around town I can get on it and get a super sound out of it.:buttrock
