Just had the opportunity to run a kid in a slick black WS6. Nice kid, told me it was an 01 with "a lot of stuff done." He said it had an exhaust, cam (couldn't really hear it loping but I heard him say it was a 236 split) and a 150 shot....obviously wasn't spraying.

We were rolling down the road in 1st gear and he honked it off. I immediately jumped out a car or so, powershifted 2nd and extended another car, went to 3rd and was fully expecting him to walk me down......but he didnt, it pretty much stayed the same through 3rd. Powershifted to 4th 2-3 cars ahead and let out around 115 or so.:eek:

Something obviously doesn't add up....:nuts:I don't know if he was lying about the cam or what, but there's no way my stock GTO that traps 109mph should have been able to hold off a cammed/bolt on 6 speed WS6. Oh well....I'll take the win either way, maybe he sucked at driving. Nice kid though, and he complimented me on the GTO and said he really liked it.

P.S. Forgot to mention that as soon as I got into 4th gear a 318i blew past me like a freight train!! Man I gotta get me one of those!! whoowee!!

oh....and good run Brian! Your shifting probably had a lot to do with it. I should have been power shifting against you too! Makes a difference when cars are very evenly matched.

While I agree somewhat.....a bolt on, cammed WS6 should have been able to walk me down with relative ease, all he had to do was get it in gear. I'm going to post this on ls1tech.com in hopes that he is on there and can shed some more light on the incident.

As far as the power shifting goes....as soon as he told me it had a cam I thought I was fawked:banghead:....so I was just trying to get embarrassed as little as possible. lol

Driver mod can make up for a lot of other mods at times...especially if he was a young kid and not used to the car. Or if he was telling the truth *L*. Either way, a win is a win! :) My ex '98 WS6, which was basically a cam (Hotcam) and bolt on car ran mid 12's at 115 on street tires.

YUP. I just keep thinking about it and thinking about it.....I did NOT hear a cam loping when he was sitting next to me. Not even the slightest hint, NOTHING. I'm no stranger to cammed LS1s.....and at the split he said, it would definitely be sitting there shaking the car.....I don't think I'm buyin' that it had a cam.

I bet he was BSing. But usually, don't people try to underrate their cars more than overrate them, so they can prepare you for total pwnage? :confused :dunno

It had to be a driver mod or the kid was Bsing about his mods. my brother owns a 02 Camaro with a cam, and walked an 06 gto with a cam so theres no way you shouldve won if he had those mods. but :buttrock for powershifting lol. and those 6.0L gto's are no joke either.
