Last Fall, I read an old article in Roundel about turning our "dinosaur bumpers" into the "euro look" bumpers. Basically, it consists of removing the front bumper and shocks, drilling a hole in the end of the shock, draining the fluid, and bolting the shock down, so it doesn't rebound. You then have to cut the accordian things on the side of the bumper to clean it up.

Well, I was halfway into it, with my bumper off, and realized it looks better without the bumper on at all! So, I mounted the driving lights on the holes where the shocks were mounted, and as they say, that was that!!!

PS--I know it looks bad with the accordian pieces still on the side, but I had just paid to have all of the reflectors replaced, and didn't want to toss 'em! :D

I like it... Looks clean minus now take the reflectors out and put some side marker indicator lights mouted flush in the metal and it will be really nice as the plastic piece that holds the reflectors is sticking out and looks odd! I think i might do this as well at least till I can find the wide body setup somewher (I hope and pray), or I get the BMW motorsport front setup.

i saw another dude who did something very similar........he just took the bumper and accordian trim off.......then he stuck on the rubber bumper strip on to the car, to cover all the holes. it looked pretty good up until the sides (cuz the bumper strip doesn't wrap around to the wheel wells)

not bad...different, but not bad.
i might compress my bumpers and see how they look.

i like it, lets just hope you dont hit anyone without your bumper now!

lol. Yeah true. I'm going out today to take the plastic trim pieces off. I'll post some pics of it later.
