I am rolling along doing 70 when I see some clown running through traffic and then he comes up right on my ass, he trys to pass and then I step on it, he eats tail..then again and again..
THe road clears and I let him pass, 4 lanes open..I come up on his ass, then pass, do a circle around him and back to hiss hass..
This is around 120 MPH..
Totally funny..
I was about to do it again but traffic stopped the antics..

I'm new to this forum but not new to cars and this kill seemed a bit confusing. I was at the BMW dealer recently and the sales rep told me that any BMW can now be purchased in a manual transmission including the M5 but it's special order. He said most of the buyers of those cars want it in auto, including the 335. That's telling me that most people who have those cars can't really drive them. I'm looking to get an 01-04 E46 M3 in a stick so my search is on.

The E55 AMG is a very fast car indeed, but running circles around a 335 sounds like a fairy tale. Come on now...

Most people do buy autotragics. The lazy factor + the instant on abiltiy of auto's makes them very appealing. + a lot of men have wives who can't drive stick.

E55's a mid/low 12 second car that'll trap 115 no problem. 335 is mid/low 13's at 105ish. If 335 was 6spd manual, driver could've been caught in 4th or something..

There are usually a couple "quicker" 335's that can represent as well. Interested in comming out to the next one?

like I said..when I was looking at the new M5 they only had Auto available.
They make the first runs auto because it's a broader market, on a high end car you might have to use it for soccor mom activities. "look honey, it's Auto ..you can drive it too..it's a good family car" High end meaning you might only have enough to buy the car if it's a duel use car and with the price of the AUTO M5 (100K) you could have a wicked track/street E36M and a nice 5 series. Some people sacrafice that to have the brand name or prestige. It's all about sales, they target enthusiasts later...
The reason I got the E55 was because I always wanted one, the tuning factor (Stage 2) is very easy and since the E63 came out, the E55's are a good deal. I also had an M so..might as well get an AMG to compliment my German tastes.
It's hard to find a good deal on a flagship car. Right now the E55 is it and the AMGS are Auto only, too bad because the C63 looks like it's going to be a nice car. The good news is that the autos are getting better but that 3rd pedal is hard to live w/o no matter what.

Nope, the iS's had a trunk lid spoiler which increases downforce approximately 614% and thereby increases residual inertial acceleration from 0-60 in 1.3 seconds to -2.8 seconds. The 318iS is, quite simply, a marvel of German engineering and should never be challenged by any sane individual.

are you for srs :confused ..why does it make sense for most people to buy automatics?... b/c it's convenient to drive them; one less thing you have to think about/distract you. (read: lazy factor). forget the fact that 75% of the population wouldn't even know the first thing to do in a stick car & therefore automakers often exclusively offer automatics.

Autotragics are also smooth and offer more gears than manuals in many instances now, & M-B autoboxes are the best in the bznz if you ask me.
