View Full Version : UPDATE w/PICS: Back from Body Shop, New M5 rear bumper! (56k Murder...)

Well I finally got my car back about a week ago and aside from some "errors" (needs some polishing, "burnt" paint from polishing, CAI in wrong place, etc...)that the body shop needs to take care of the car looks pretty good.

The front bumper was replaced, fenders refinished, hood refinished, new windshield, new M5 rear bumper, black emblems...

I'm thinking about powder coating the wheels black but we'll see, also "smoking" the clear on the tails too...

Comments?

front end turned out great.

I wouldn't change much. I'd have opted for no brake vents or black holes instead of chrome. Slap some silver bulbs in the tails. Slam the suspension.

Looking really good, but I don´t like the chrome inlets, powder them black and you´re good to go.
A drop would be nice too.

Thanks for the comments guys!

I've heard ALOT of people tell me to "take the drains out", "they'd looks better black", etc. Funny thing is when people actually see them in person, they really like them! They aren't chrome, rather a "brushed" SS look that compliment the headlights VERY well.

I will be getting a new suspension very soon, this new house is killing me though! I'll probably go with the FSD's and a nice drop. For some reason in those pics the car looks ALOT higher than it actually is, oh well...

Very nice, Putter! That rear pic with those wide tires showing....

If I were to change anything...
I'd do the black wheels
Black air vents,
slammage

Now that would be Hawt sauce!

the drains should be the same color as the rings around the fogs

Fantastic looking 'whip'. ;) I agree with the others who say lose the aluminum brake vents. They'd look much better black, and some 35% tint wouldn't hurt either. Otherwise - beautiful!

Trust me I drive it EVERY chance I get!

Thanks! The current Dinan mods are the CAI, MAF, Throttle Body, Software, and Magnaflow exhaust. I have a pre-VANOS (...Dinan :rolleyes) High Flow Manifold sitting on my garage floor waiting to be put in. Once I get that and the S/W upgrade I'll be at Stage 5.

As she is now at Stage 4 I can keep up from a 50mph roll with a buddy of mine who has a '99 Dinan S/C'ed M3 putting down 297 RWHP :D

he already has some tint

Yep only 35% though :(

Only when you look at it straight on and from a few angles (like the ones I took the pictures at :rolleyes) does it look really light. Light interior doesn't help much either...

Yes, yes it is. The recent heat barrage (100+ here in NC for a while) has had somehting to do with it. It isn't going anywhere but it is definately on my "to do list"...

Nice Putter...kinda looks familiar (like mine only blacker).."Ebony and Ivory"... anyone:D

Did you have an alternator duct also? If so I am fabbing up something (subtle) to make that work. I'll shoot you some pics when I get it done.
