Let's say I rent a place in DC, but still have a valid mailing address, a room I can live in, and work in VA. Can I get away with remaining a VA resident?

We have a condo were trying to rent out on 24th. I'm filling an empty room in a 2br rowhouse. It's pretty much settled though I haven't actually signed anything yet. Moving in next weekend.

Where are you going to file taxes? That will tell you where you are a resident...
