View Full Version : Got pulled over today.
2kredz3 08-16-2007, 10:55 AM Less then a mile from my house is a traffic light where i make a left on to a 4 lane hwy. All week i have been out of sink with this light and as i roll up to it it turns red (this is one of those very very long lights) i tried leaving earlier didnt work, later didnt work. so today i choose to speed through it (take no prisoners style) so the DSC was off grabbed 2nd gear and kicked it out all the way through the light just as it turned yellow. YES I MADE IT!
only thing was today cobb county had a speed trap set up to the right of the intersection so they heard me go through the light and probably cought the smoke from the tires. as i crest the next hill cobb county has someone pulled over. . .and right away i know what i just did. they always set their speed trap up with one cop on the right of the intersection and the other one would chase people down and pull them over further down the road. . .so when i saw this car pulled over i knew that there must be a cop behind me somewhere.
::looks in mirror:: Damn it! he is already pulling up behind me :( 2 miles go by with him about 4 feet off my bumper, so i speed up to 50 (speed limit 45) showing that i am not worried about the cop being there. `THEN he speeds up too, and once again is 4 feet off my rear bumper.
::blue lights:: me and 3 other people pull off the road (i guess the people in front of me were speeding and thought that they got busted too) Mr. Ryan was the officers name (very nice guy i might add) walked up to the car ( i had the top down) asked if i was following the people in front of me and i said no. . .he started to laugh and told them to go on.
::at this point im thinking wreckless driving speeding and what ever else:: after we get done with our plesentries and what not he simply says that the tinted cover on my license plate is not legal :nono and that i am not being pulled over for "making" it through the light. he said that he heard the tires as i went through the corner but he couldnt see me all he knew was that i did actually make it before it turned red so he couldnt write me a ticket for any of that :alright.
He wrote me a warning for the license plate cover and then we sat and talked about window tint and why autozone would sell covers like that when we cant use them and just cut up and had a good time. I was late for work, but had my excused tardy slip with me (warning slip for the tag)
Cliff notes:
made it through yellow light sideways, pulled over, got warning for improper display of tag. had a laugh with the officer.

so your looking at 40-45 sec to find the thread read it and then start the posting process. . .:shifty

I know a lot of CCPD guys, especially their SWAT & K9 guys. Also, my brother-in-law is a CCPD Detective out of Precinct 2. They've all been cool when I've interacted with them.

zeit00 08-16-2007, 12:54 PM Just recently me and my wife where coming from dinner with her aunt. We took separate cars. After dinner I left right before she did and was going to stop and get gas. I pull out of the restaurant and precede turn at the gas station which was 50 feet away. As I put on my turn signal I notice a cruiser behind me. I turn into the gas station and he hits the lights. I know I was not speeding, and actually took it nice and easy pulling onto the main road. He informs me that he pulled me over for a brake light being out, and asked for license and registration. I inform him that I have a weapon in the glovebox... At this time I expected him to grab his firearm like every other cop does. He calmly asks me to step out of the vehicle and asks for the keys. He runs my license, tag, weapon.. and while doing so asks how the gun shoots, what mods I have done to the car.. etc.. etc.. Puts the gun back in the glove box and tells me to have a good day.
This all happens with my wife in her car laughing at me. :(
Doctor Wha 08-16-2007, 12:58 PM ^^^
Very cool, Zeit.
I've always noted my good interactions with cops. From the abruptly truncated photo shoot at the "Concrete Room (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=562395)," to my ticket (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=653060) for a pass on a double-yellow, the cops I've run into have been quite civil, and even nice.

At least he was cool with everything. Was this APD or some other jurisdiction?

The only LEOs I've ever had an issue with were city cops, with the exception of APD. All the state and county cops I've had "run-ins" with have all been cool as hell. The city cops though have all been douchebags.

Wow! A city cop who was cool, I guess there are exceptions to every rule.
Why has this not been locked.
Because a mod did the thread-jacking, duh. I mean do I have to explain everything to you these days?

Point taken. I will lock this baby up for reasons of equity. Or I'll just go back and delete everything post-hijack. We'll see how much time I have...
2kredz3 08-16-2007, 02:20 PM Does it matter if the OP doesnt care if his/her thread gets hijacked?
I mean what is the point of closing a thread if there is no bad stuff in it just talking?
LoveLEE143 08-16-2007, 02:21 PM I am just being as ass and busting your chops. I could really care less about equality. Hell I am black I know there is no equality. So are you still billing a client while you do your moding.

True, you have a point. Not much of one but a point nonetheless.

Hey Counselor, that's called tampering with the evidence if you go and delete posts.

Dammit man, start using firefox as your browser. 95% of your spelling errors will be underlined so you can fix them. Oh and I agree, if the OP has no issues with the threadjack then screw public opinion.
I am just being as ass and busting your chops. I could really care less about equality. Hell I am black I know there is no equality. So are you still billing a client while you do your moding.
