Alright as for the engine, here's the write-up from Dubwerx in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Description of service: 1987 Jetta GLI was received in very good condition mechanically and body wise, true mileage unknown but in excess of 150,000 miles. No visible rust, no evidence of body damage and car appears to have been maintained very well, making an excellent candidate for a VR6 conversion. The goal was to install a previously tested 300HP VR6 turbo motor into the Jetta while adding appropriate suspension and braking components to match the power of this drivetrain, replace any aging suspension/steering bushings and bearings, and above all to retain factory driveability and reliability.

i assume the car is also listed on vwvortex?

Only in the Rocky Mountain regional FS thread... I'd rather not hassle with shipping right now... I'll paste it over into the Mk2 FS threads this week, though...

Need to sell it quick (moving to Hawaii in October)

That thing is unique and pretty nifty. I am semi-interested. Can you post some engine bay shots? Will it pass CA emissions? Rims are not my cup of tea but that could be easily fixed. Tastefuls V-dubs are few and far between. You, my friend have one. Good luck with your sale.:)

I'll take some better engine shots tomorrow and post em up... the ones I have are older. As for emissions.... :lol more likely "not a chance"... there's no cat. Straight pipe from the exhaust manifold to the muffler.
