I am posting this for a friend. The owner of these two dogs passed away and the owner's friends are trying to find homes for them. Here is the text of the email I received:

Both dogs have lived with a person who was basically house-bound. They are both wonderful companions.

They do not have to stay together. Thank you for sending along this information.

If I had room, I would take one of the dogs. Its hard to see animals left behind. Under these circumstances, it is really too bad. They are both beautiful dogs.

Yes, I have now added that information above. I have also changed the contact information.

I wish I had the space, but alas, I've got three already. What's interesting is, all of mine are rescue dogs and my youngest we've never been able to place what she is. Turns out Astro looks EXACTLY like her, so I guess we've now figured it out. I'll see if I can't put out some feelers for these dogs and hope we can get them into a good home.

I dunno about that. I kept my friends golden retriever for a few days while he was out of town and a big dog, is well, kinda big for my place. I don't want a wussy dog either.

Thinking about it. (Astro) My only concern is separation anxiety. Do any of you guys think that would be an issue? Even if he goes to a home with another Lab? I'm not sure.
If we realy get serious....I'll have to find out how long the two have been together.

Let's get some updates. I understand that several calls have been made...

We are working on it. Joan is bringing Astro to the house. I'm working on keeping them somewhat together. In the family at least (sister-in-law) so they will still be able to see eachother weekly to bi-weekly. Either way, I hope Joan deems us worthy of Astro.

Man, astro is a badass looking dog! Hmmmm..... I guess I'm well down the list, and to be honest, if he's energetic and wants TONS of exercise it may be better if one of these folks that doesn't live alone gets him :(

Astro is great. He successfuly "marked" everything in the back yard. The greatest part was he pissed in the face of the neighbor's Pit Bull. I almost fell down laughing.
He slept in the bed with Chase (my oldest) all night last night. He will be one great companion.
Now, on to fencing the yard.........my Lab goes out without a leash......Astro will not. Sounds like a good pre-UFC party project. You guys show up early. :D
