I don't exactly want to pay $400 to get one from the dealer, and the one I have works... just not all the time :shifty. So if anyone has a working one for sale, or knows of a place to get them for a lower cost, that would be great. I keep seeing all these threads about 90 dollar ebay xenons, could I just buy a set of those and take that ignitor? or does the e46 have special ignitors. TIA

check craigslist, i thought i saw a set of oem xenons going pretty cheap few weeks back.

EDIT: i'm pretty sure E46s have different ignitors, i dont remember exactly but i believe that ignitor was built-in the bulb harness. But I maybe wrong.

you dont have to get a ballast with seperate ignitor. pickup any bmw ballast and call it a day. most of them have built in ignitors now.

yes, but that does not fix my problem of having to pay 400 dollars to fix a xenon headlight, im sure the ballast is just as expensive if not more than the ignitor.

Go to HID planet. They'll have a ballast for you.

You can get ballasts from ebay for cheap.

It was still working great when I removed it from my bike. I can put a hole in that fender with my knuckle it is so thin.:nono

Edit: BTW, you were the one calling me asking if your wiring was correct because you couldn't figure it out. You burned up $400 worth of my property that I generously loaned you, and you still have yet to return it.

i coudlnt figure it out because it woudlnt turn on you douche. i ordered new ballast off ebay and it turned on fine. i havnt dropped the ballast or the ignitor at any point so you cant put that shit on me. i know my wiring is fine too because i didnt change anything for the new ballast. your ballast has a mind of its own and works when it wants to. so dont blame me for anything which was already messed up.

Anyway, I did replace the ignitor (which is a huge bitch to get to) and now my xenons work flawlessly... anyone want an ignitor that works some of the time? :stickoutt
