So tomorrow I get to go to Framingham to fight an "Illegal Operation" ticket I received about 3 months ago.

The Statie that was parked in the grass area of an on/off ramp by the Westwood train station exit on 95 decided to come pull me over in the wee Sunday morning hours because of EXCESSIVE NOISE!!!

Yes, my NEW HAMPSHIRE plated E36 with UUC's RSC exhaust (TSE3 for E36) was too loud for the :censored:.

I think I woke the guy up in fact.

Anyways I'm all excited to go sit in front of a court clerk to explain that my NH inspected vehicle with an exhaust that "meets or exceeds" dealer specs was not loud and that without a decible reader I can't understand how the officer could ticket me based on his subjective opinion. Oh and since he had no right to pull me over in the first place then I should not have received the seat belt violation either. :stickoutt

Who is stupid enough to get a ticket for not wearing a seat belt? You must have really pissed off that cop.

Not in jail... Although I was arrested once for what turned out to be a failure to pay a speeding ticket...

Met with the damn clerk of court and brought in the UUC paperwork about the exhaust... The clerk (in MA you see a clerk first and then can appeal to a judge) was a f'in moron and was like I don't understand this paperwork... She was all focused on UUC's "refined and sophisticated" comment about the sound. Nevermind that I have NH plates and an NH inspection...

She said to me that I can appeal her and the bailiff escorted me down to file the proper paperwork... The guy looked at me, gave me one of those smiles, and said "Don't worry, I'm sure the cop won't show"...

Mind you I don't give a damn about the cash for the ticket but in MA the ticket is for ILLEGAL OPERATION. That tranfers to NH as like 4 points on the license!!!

So... I get to see a judge in October. I'm not going to focus on the sound thing, just that UUC says the exhaust is 50 state emission legal, that it is a direct replacement for a stock exhaust that "meets or exceeds dealer specs" and finally bring in the NH inspection guidelines and RSA that would indicate my exhaust is legal in NH... The cop did not have a decible meter... And for good measure throw out there that when MA drivers come to NH with MA plates they don't get pulled over for illegal tint on the windows and one would surmise that an NH driver shouldn't get pulled over for something that passes inspection in NH.

Good luck !

I think the rumble of your UUC caused a vibration in his dash spilling the coffee over his balls:stickoutt

you should have a decibel test done and take it to court , if its no louder than STOCK you are all set , but i think NH now has a 95db requirement ?

anyway it was a Mass Statie , HE WILL BE IN COURT , they get paid to be there .

yeah, I'm assuming he will be too.

actually 95db is motorcycle specific. I don't believe cars have specific db's yet.

Sorry bro but I have NEVER had a Mass Statie show up to court. They always bail, always 100% of the time .I've never had a Mass State Cop show up to testify... perioid.

IDK... I hope not, but any time I've gone to court in any state the guy has shown up... Oh well... Maybe I'll get lucky this time.
