MattE21 03-07-2003, 10:37 AM next up for you: eibachs... come clears (they should lok phatty in your color car) paint those side reflectors flat black and paint your rear turn signals red... hobby paint #1629 i gotta see those new rims! jbob 03-07-2003, 01:22 PM nice & clean.....what color is that? dark blue or black? :D hehehee, i like the 3 basketweaves and 1 turbine wheel. Yonkers320is 03-07-2003, 06:05 PM its black, but the scanner turned it into dark grayish-blueblack TheNeek 03-07-2003, 06:32 PM I don't get the whole "red tail light" thing. I've honestly never seen one personally on a car. The E30's look good with them, but that doesn't mean an E21 does. I have an old set of rear lenses (left and right) if someone wants to get them... They're still in great shape. Just that they don't show up as red as they used too. Shoul I pain these to see what it's like? MattE21 03-07-2003, 07:04 PM definately... you've seen my car havent u?? i think u can see them inmy pics.. the orance turn signal part gets painted to match and it looks good on my color.... G.J. Dixon 03-08-2003, 01:53 AM Dude, that car looks just like mine! :D Well, I should really say it Did look like mine when I first got it! Here's what mine looked like a couple years ago. Its a little different now, but generally looks the same! http://www.dtmpower.net/ppost2/data/517/1210save0023-med.jpg http://www.dtmpower.net/ppost2/data/500/1210save0025-med.jpg BimmerDawg 03-08-2003, 10:08 AM Damn BWW Club Racer, that 320i is badass. And it's sittin soooo low!!! I love the front spoiler, too. EdgePerformance 03-08-2003, 10:19 AM Ditto I love the black 320i man (speaking of BMW club Racer) very clean and nice look! What type of spring or cil over setup did you use if you don't mind my asking! I have thought about the ground control, Spax 60mm drop, or settle for H&R or Bavarian norm Springs or even get some custom race springs made! G.J. Dixon 03-08-2003, 11:29 AM I am using a complete Ground Control Coilover Suspension setup. Camber Plates, Coilovers, Advanced Design Rear Strut Assemblies with double adjustable shocks in the rear, and single adjustable Koni's in front custom fabricated into the struts out of a Camaro in which I had to cut and section the front strut housings and make them 1 inch and 5/8ths shorter and use a 3 inch steel spacer at the bottom of the strut housing to hold up and position the shock. I am also using Suspension Techinques Front Sway Bar, and I believe its a Korman Rear Sway Bar, 25mm front 19mm adjustable rear. I have spent about $3k on the supension! EdgePerformance 03-08-2003, 06:24 PM I would say you would have spent a load if not on labor for sure then a grip of the 3k on parts as well! Who made the double adjustable rear setup! Spax makes a setup like that I forget what model it is though and too lazy to look right now! G.J. Dixon 03-08-2003, 06:29 PM I do all the work on the car, so there is no labor. The cost of the suspension is all parts. The Advanced Design Coilover Strut is made by Ground Control, its their top of the line equipment. The rear struts were $400 each EdgePerformance 03-08-2003, 06:42 PM I am familiar with those! I was thinking about the Ground Control setup to mate to my Konis, what do you think, either that or Spax 60mm race Springs! G.J. Dixon 03-08-2003, 06:48 PM Right now, Ground Control is the top suspension company to deal with! I highly recommend them! I use their Eibach 2.5 ID Springs 6 inches long Yonkers320is 03-08-2003, 08:08 PM BMW Club Racer, that is how I am going to leave my car. It is going that way right know. I like the drop, it looks MEAN. You got some extreme negative camberon the rear, any issues with tire temperature and wear? That is one problem I don't know how to go about it, there is no adjustment of rear camber....... G.J. Dixon 03-08-2003, 10:53 PM On the street I do have a very slight issue of tire wear on the inner edges of the tires. Its really not too bad. I actually thought it was going to be much worse then it is. I have Yokohama AVS Intermediates as my street tires and they have been on the car for about 3 years and about 15k miles and are still wearing pretty nicely. The front tires are wearing with a feathered edge on the inner and outer edge of the tires. As far as Tire Temperatures. At Lime Rock Park I have a 5 degree temperature spread from inner to outer and have the hotter temperature on the inner edge on the Left Front tire. Due to the amount of negative camber in the rear I have about a 20 degree temperature difference from the inner edge to the outer edge with the Inner being the hotter side. Once I get done with the engine, I'm going to redo the rear end and send out the subframe to be slotted for camber and toe adjustments. |
