I have a 5.3l with forged internals and set up for boost. My question is with the weight difference between the 5.3l and 5.7l being 65lbs would it be that noticeable in the front of a 1994 E36 with 6 cylinder. Thanks for your input and this is a great site.

Sounds cool, but you'll be hard pressed for space. Might have to be creative with your turbo placement (if that's what your hinting here :devillook)...You should check out the convertable LS1 E36 that has it's turbo under the rear wheel well...crazy stuff...
Good luck man

thanks for the reply's and I was thinking of either using a procharger D1sc or kenne bell 2.4 supercharger. This question is for the guys with the LS1 already in the car could you please let me know how much clearance you have between the intake and hood. I think the KB is 10 inches tall from the base of the intake to the top of the supercharger. This would give me an idea of what i will be woring with ahead of time. Thanks again.
It is not going to fit under the stock hood. Believe me; I measured ;)
There is a thread here showing some guys in new York that did one with the blower poking through the hood.

The hood missed a little over a inch, here are some pics nahrods.com/gallery/photo_album.php?id=4 , very clean install, hood I think is being finished very soon.

It should not be a big deal. A local shop has done some nice twin turbo stuff:

It turned a little over 700rwhp with an automatic on 12psi with a 6.0. The main fabrication guy also has a BMW 2002.

Hey, thanks for all the info guys and the website. I kinda figured that i would need to modify the hood and all ready have some ideas to keep it stock looking with the same hood lines. I really don't like the thought of having the supercharger sticking through a hole in the hood. I'm really leaning towards the Kenne Bell. Thanks Again.
