VBrock 08-13-2007, 06:11 PM 3. Vonn, Black E90 (just myself)
BTW: I'm planning on bringing a couple walkie talkies, police scanner and a radar detector.
Anyone wanna grab a quick lunch in Tulsa when we meet? We could meet somewhere close to 44 (I assume that's the route...?). Nowhere in particular comes to mind yet though.
JedzE36/5 08-13-2007, 06:52 PM yea that would be great. if we leave OK around 10:00 we should be up there around 11:30ish. since you are the first Tulsa guy to respond, you mind if you make the call on location? im not familiar with the area. oh and yea I-44 all the way to the Louis.
btw Vonn you have a room? Brian (SpunkyE30nOk) has a room that he is willing to share.
JedzE36/5 08-13-2007, 09:48 PM ok edited 1st post to reflect schedule.
VBrock 08-14-2007, 09:39 AM Hmm... there really aren't any great places to meet at off of I-44 in Tulsa, especially with the construction east of the Arkansas river. There's a couple of Sonic's that might be convenient... shouldn't be TOO hot around noon to be eating outside. I imagine y'all don't want to take the time to sit down at a real restaurant and eat, so I'm thinkin' somewhere fast-food-ish.
One option would be to just meet somewhere in Tulsa, head up I-44 for 50 miles or so and stop at the world's largest McDonald's in Vinita. It's the bridge-like one that you drive under on I44. I doubt anyone's very excited about eating at McDonald's, but it's a cool place to stop and we might be able to take some pictures with it in a background.
I talked to Swiss last night and we're gonna plan on sharing a room. I'm cool with sharing with Brian, but I'm not sure how he or Swiss feel about three in one room... plus Swiss said he might bring someone. Oh, and he's gonna ride with me btw.
I remember mention of some kind of plans for Friday night... did any ever get decided? I was thinking we could try to set up some beer pong at the hotel if anyone's interested.
SpunkyE30nOk 08-14-2007, 03:51 PM yea that would be great. if we leave OK around 10:00 we should be up there around 11:30ish. since you are the first Tulsa guy to respond, you mind if you make the call on location? im not familiar with the area. oh and yea I-44 all the way to the Louis.

I do have a room on reserve at candlewood only thing is its a "studio" suite so whoever crashes in my room will be on the floor, but i think jed is bringing an air mattress..so if no one in his room is using it you might wanna ask him to borrow it unless you have your own
JedzE36/5 08-14-2007, 06:02 PM beer pong is good with me. and yea we could just meet in Tulsa and eat at that McDonalds. that place is pretty cool. lets plan on that. we just need a location for us to meet y'all at.
VBrock 08-16-2007, 01:51 PM Alright, I think I've decided on a good place to meet, although I'm sure I've put way too much thought into it.
The Cherokee Nation Casino and Resort is just off of I-44 at N. 193rd E. Ave. It's just North-East of Tulsa, about 2-3 miles after I-44 merges with I-244/412. Exit 240A, then take left on 193rd E. Ave. Turn left immediately after the Pizza Hut (on the left side) onto Timbercrest Circle and you'll see a big parking lot on your left that should be mostly empty. We'll meet there.
The casino is pretty hard to miss from the highway, it's a huge building off to the left with a massive sign out by the highway. I'll try to remember to post a satellite picture from Google to clarify exactly where I'm talking about when I get home; all image-hosting sites are blocked at my work.
I'm not sure what the construction is like in town on I-44, so I figured it'd be easy to meet just outside of Tulsa and the casino is the biggest landmark close to I-44.
Edit: BTW, if you Google the casino, it'll tell you to turn right on 193rd E Ave, which is wrong. It's just North of the highway, pretty easy to see on Google's satellite image.
Grant01 08-16-2007, 02:11 PM this is grant checking in, just wondering who ill be able to ride with/room with.
Grant01 08-16-2007, 02:14 PM o, i think it might be better to meet over by loves, there is just a huge empty "commuters" lot there. all it is is a large parking lot right off the highway(just exit 122nd and turn left and its right there. from there its a .2 mile jog to the turnpike. i think this lot would be better because its RIGHT off the highway plus its right next to the turnpike and it is also very large and empty all the time
VBrock 08-16-2007, 08:41 PM NOTICE: Meeting place has changed slightly... Instead of turning just after the Pizza Hut, you'll turn left at the traffic light at Cherokee St.
You will see the huge parking lot on your left, I'll be waiting there (hopefully) by the time you get there. I decided to change the lot because apparently there's some construction near the other lot that may make things confusing.
